The solitude of the location and escaping the crowds. The history of the main house makes you feel like you stepping back in time. We stayed in the main house in the French Suite (upstairs) the room is very spacious with a place to sit and relax. It had 2 doors opening up to the view of the garden. There is also a patio on the other side for you to enjoy. They did let us bring our own wine to meals.

The reception area does not feel welcoming, feels like an add on. Our bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The water in the shower was either hot or cold and the water in the bath was a trickle of water, somethings need a little TLC. The dining area felt uncomfortable to us. We have no problem dining with others, it just doesn’t have the right atmosphere. When the wind had calmed down we ate outside which was much nicer. We had a late checkout which was amazing but only after we went to settle up our bill we had to pay for our lunch. If we new that in advance we would have gone out for lunch. If you have dietary requirements I would let them know in advance as there was very little choice for a vegan/low carb

The Great House is in a beautiful secluded quiet spot in Antigua. We loved the peace & quiet. Cotton Cottage was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom superb.

The French Suite - no storage or hanging space for clothes. The plumbing in the bathroom was poor. No accessible power points inside. The bed was small Food & Wine - Food was cooked nicely however the menu was boring - British food! No traditional Caribbean food on it would have liked to see e.g. Jerk Chicken/Goat Curry/Rice & Beans. The same menu for 2 weeks. Fish of the Day was always Mai Mai. The Greek salad didn't always have the right ingredients as specified on the menu. Breakfast - no natural yogurt, one day no bananas! The wine was hideously expensive - US$90 for a bottle of Waitrose (!) Sauvignon Blanc. All the guests complained and eventually bought their own from a local supermarket. We would go back - if the food/drink situation was rectified!

Set within a former sugar plantation in quiet and tranquil grounds, it is a special place to visit if you are looking to completely relax and detox, or get fit through optional boot camp and yoga sessions. You wake up to birdsong after a comfortable night's rest in a cool, spacious bedroom and can take a dip in good-sized clean pool within the well-maintained, spacious grounds surrounded by luscious tropical vegetation.

It was all very good.
