Very beautiful and pretty building inside and out. The hotel is situated on the hill and gives clear view of the lake. We had a dog with us and facilities provided were excellent. All staff members were friendly and welcoming.
I understand we had a dog, however we were restricted to where we could sit. We had to sit in the bar with a small round table which made it awkward to eat. I think they could restrict a part of the restaurant to be dog friendly, but I understand why not.

Ideal location for exploring Bowness on Windermere and Windermere itself.
Lovely balcony room with great views.
Some very helpful staff.
Breakfast was chaotic, items constantly running out and not being refilled. Bar service on an evening was terrible, always had to go looking for someone to serve.
Uncleared glasses on tables and the bar. From previous visits it felt like some cutbacks had been made supposably for sustainability but felt more like saving money on staff, such as having to request your room is made up - when paying £240 per night it felt reasonable to expect someone to pop in to check hospitality tray etc.

It’s clearly had a relatively recent makeover and looks excellent. A good combination of classic and contemporary. Comfortable and warm., and excellent staff.
My only slight whinge would be that the machinery on the roof outside my room occasionally impinged on my sleep.

Having read the recent trip advisor comments I was seriously concerned, even looked to book elsewhere, however we arrived early 11.25am to get a parking space as you now do not have designate parking for residents only which will now mean i will look for a hotel which offers parking guaranteed for parking for guests in the future, our room was 301 which was a pleasant room.
As already mentioned I seriously do not like your current parking process, even talking to friends we meet up with all said we would consider a different location to meet in the future, friends who stayed in other hotels did have parking available at no charge
Breakfast seating area is good, the area that provides the food buffet is poor, it looks like it has been sitting there for quite a while, it would be good if you made available on the table a menu for service to the table
