We loved the room and onsen. It exceeded our expectations, and we were extremely comfortable.
The meals were a little adventurous for our tastes, but it’s okay. The staff was so kind and generous.

Service was exceptional, we stayed there for 2 nights and both the breakfast and dinner kaiseki was exceptional. We ordered the children's meal as well for both breakfast and dinner, it was mainly fried foods, rice, salads and amazing sashimi. It's great if your kids are ok with fish and seafood. The in-room bath was warm and relaxing. The view was relaxing and amazing from our room.
A bit far from public transport and on top of a hill. It's ok if you can get a lift from the staff to the nearest bus stop/station (which the services terminates 5pm), otherwise may need to get a taxi back.

On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable, and we really enjoyed the private bath with beautiful views of the mountains.
Honestly, I expected more from the property and from the ryokan experience overall. The bad weather didn’t help, but unfortunately, the room didn’t smell very pleasant due to a strong smell of humidity.
The staff were very kind and welcoming, although communication in English was quite difficult. I feel that better communication could have significantly improved the overall experience, particularly when it came to understanding the food and the ryokan experience itself.
