Leisure facilities good. Breakfast nice and didn't feel rushed. Lounge rooms nice and spacious and quiet.
It would have been nice to have a option to play 9 holes of golf. As travelling with my partner (who doesn't play) a 9 hole option would have been an ideal for our timings.
The gym needs someone on hand to do a quick induction and to explain the machinery (for example everyday at a certain time). My partner (who is a member of a gym) felt uncomfortable in using the facilities without someone from the hotel spending 5 minutes with her initially. She therefore didn't use the gym which was very disappointing for her.

Slaley hall has a great location and a very relaxing atmosphere. I was pleased to see a fridge in the room which you don't get in most hotels. The food was of a high standard and enjoyable. We were served dinner by a young gentleman called Jamie R, who was an exceptional young man in every way. Friendly, polite, and attentive, he is a credit to the team.
Things that weren't quite spot on, there was what looked like rust around the plug control on the bath, and we only found the leaflet with the lay out of the building on our second day. We were told where to find our room and then had to work the rest out for ourselves. It is quite a large building.

Love coming here, it’s location is rural and you feel like you’re having a break away from the hustle and bustle of busy life. The hotel is cosy and really clean. I love how you can access the pool early which is important when we are up so soon.
The only thing was the children’s pool was closed and it was a family visit with toddler in tow so we were disappointed.

The location the staff friendly, my grandchildren enjoyed the pool.
The food and service poor. We waited to long for our food we had young children with us. So sat at the bottom of the bar area so not to disturb other adults. We were forgotten about and had to move into the busier bar area. We also moved as it was cold. You need a family area as this area not really suitable for children in the early evening. Only adult cutlery for them to use so another disappointment as you advertise family breaks. When our food arrived again disappointing the price of the food was not reflective of the quality. Consequently we ate on our second night which wasnt our plan. Chairs in the bar were shabby and worn .
