Personnel was very friendly and helpful. The amenities were great.

For the price, I'd appreciate a refrigerator in these two suites where we stay. This weekend, among other obligations, I had to buy 3 lb eels... A refrigerator (as are seen in quotidian motels everywhere in the USA) would have saved me $$ and time, and especially time to enjoy this delightful property

The big suites, at the very least fetch a premium $$ and fail to deliver true value.

Roof terrace out of action "for tonight" but in reality it looked out or action for the foreseeable future as it is rented out to an external company. Since this was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel we were left disappointed.

The beds were comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and the location was excellent for exploring New York on foot. We walked everywhere, from Central Park to the Financial District, and appreciated having a comfortable, peaceful place to return to.

The rooftop is prominently advertised, but it was closed for an event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of our four-day stay. There was no advance warning that Thursday would be our only chance to use it, so we never got to experience it. When I complained, the hotel’s response was that we had access on Thursday. Without knowing about the forthcoming closures, however, we had no reason to prioritise using it that day. Advance notice would have allowed us to plan around this. The continental breakfast consisted of pastries, bagels that could be toasted, boiled eggs and yoghurts. It met the description, but the selection felt basic for the price of the stay. Having paid $3,092, I was disappointed that the response to my complaint was an offer of a $75 refund. Although I appreciated the gesture, it felt modest given that the rooftop was unavailable for three of our four days. Better communication and a more understanding response would have made a considerable difference.
