Delicious breakfast and Amy went out of her way to make dishes we’d requested!

Two lamps in the bedroom would be nice.

Farmhouse Room was large with a King Bed. Bed was very comfortable. Room very quiet. Friendly Owner.

Breakfast was very basic. Did not compare with many B&Bs we stayed in the past. No soap or body wash on shower. Shampoo and conditioner only. (Note, did not know that cats have free run of house - lay on beds. If allergic be aware)

Bed was comfortable. Selection of books was good. The yard has a fire pit, which we did not use, but it was available.

Owner did not mention that she has cats. Owner did not greet guests, she had everything set up for self check in. Our room only had a bedside table on one side, so I had to put my book, water, and my glasses on the floor. Breakfast was poor compared to other places we have stayed. Croissants and apple bread, oranges and bananas, packages of oatmeal. Coffee, but no juice or even water. If you stay here, I recommend you find breakfast somewhere else.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Claiborne House in Rocky Mount, VA. Our host,Amy, has this bed and breakfast running like a well oiled machine. Check in was easy and we didn’t need to ask for anything because she thought of everything.

We just wish the weather would have been better! We would like to visit another time (without remnants from a hurricane) to enjoy the grounds, etc.

The room was spacious and comfortable. I loved that a kitty came right into our room and hung out with me, but that she left willingly when I asked her to go out. Amy was welcoming and helpful too.
