The best self catering units that we stayed in during our roadtrip. Whow best attention to detail !

In many years of travelling (with and without booking.com) this is by far the best property and experience we have ever had. The pictures and description on booking.com were exactly what we got. But there were so many extra touches that were over and above that made it extra special and elevated our experience. I will try to mention some but will probably miss some as we didn’t have time to use everything… High end, environmentally friendly toiletries, extra towels and bath robes, toaster, 1 electric and one gas kettle, cafetière, coffee percolator, fully fitted kitchen and utensils. Fridge freezer, fruit bowl, fresh milk, home made biscuits/ rusks. Marlicia was attentive but not intrusive, gave wonderful recommendations for eating and activities and dropped us off at the wine tram as my monoid limited.

The only criticism is that we visited in winter and could not make full use of the pool and the outdoor experience.

We had a two day stay during a few sunny days in winter. The accommodation is situated in a quiet part of town, but only a few blocks from the main street. Secure, off street parking is provided. The host is genial and helpful and live next door, The accommodation is beautifully appointed and very homely. Everythng is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is the best equiped we have ever had in self catering accommodation. The interior decoration is very nice and linen and towels of high quality. We had a lovely stay and we felt safe while we were there. The kindness and interest of the host is appreciated. A number of food and drink items were generously provided. Sherry, fruit, coffee, tee, fresh milk etc. Also salt, pepper and some herbs for cooking and dish washing liquid. So many establishments do not provide this. We did not use the pool or outdoor braai, but loved the indoor stove for heating. We prepared simple meals which we enjoyed in front of the fire in our slippers. And the complimentary bottle of wine was enjoyed.

The Host, Marlicia, was amazing. She showed a eniune interest in ensuring we had a fantastic stay. The room was comofrtable, sverything we needed was available and the back up power solutions meant life was unintrupted by Eskom. We will definitely be back in future.

The property also provides backup power for WiFi and other small essential appliances.

Location location - walking distance to town centre and restaurants. We were warmly received by our fantastic host who made us feel very much at home. Did not experience any loadshedding as the property has 24 hour backup power. Hope to be back soon..

We had a very warm and friendly host greet us as we were shown to our spacious and well-appointed room with lovely amenities and the best crunchies I have had in a long time. The rooms were very comfortable and homely and while we had a short stay, we will definitely be coming back to stay for a longer time. Very well located close to the main street. 10 out of 10!

We felt at home at Marlicia's place! Good communication, very kind and thoughtful (we got a gift for our 8-year anniversary that we chose to spend at her place! Thank you again), stunning place and neighborhood, very well equipped! I personally also loved having a kitty around (no worries if you don't, you can choose not to let it in). Also, I didn't get it on the ad but there are 2 swimming pools! Once for the smaller cottage that we were in, and another one for the bigger place.

It gets very cold in the winter! Fortunately we had lots of blankets, a chimney in the living room with everythign you need to make a fire, and there are small wall heaters in the living room and the bedroom + a portable heater. Only thing is we got reeeeeally cold in the bathroom, as there is no plug there (but that's very common in South Africa). Also humidity was remaining in the bathroom which would make the whole room always damp and wet - but hey! you don't spend much time there so all good :) just details

I liked the way I was received,the owner was super friendly (reminds me of my mom).I also liked that there was 24 hour electricity backup, so i was never in darkness. I also liked the outside braai facility with pizza 🍕 oven next to the pool. And a woodburning fireplace in the living area. To Merlicia thank you x100.I can't wait for my next visit. A spectacular property in a superb and quiet location. It's very managed by proud owners who pay attention to details. In addition Marlicia checked in on us regularly and personally delivered us to Wine Tram station when our transport didn't arrive. Certainly the best accomodation we stayed in during a month of travelling in this lovely country.

This property is the perfect family home for a holiday in Franschoek. it had every possible amenity a person could possibly need! Pizza oven was great to use!

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. We were expecting to be affected by “ rolling blackouts/load shedding” , but were pleasantly surprised that the property has an efficient and silent battery backup power supply. The outdoor area has a pool and well equipped entertainment area.
