Hors service car travaux !
5 - petit déjeuner moyen, salle est sombre, mobilier usé …

The highlight of the stay is the staff.
They’re all 10/10, from reception to waiting staff to cleaning ladies and guest relations.. nothing is too much.
Hotel rooms need a refurbishment in design, which seems to be have started in some of the rooms.

I’ll review the hotel next, but first wanted to explain the excellent service I received from the staff, specifically Ibtissam. We checked in on 21st April and the staff were able to accommodate us before their check in time which we very much appreciated. Our room was lovely, with a seaside view however, Ibtissam & her team were able to surprise me with a beautiful upgrade to one of their suites for my birthday! The view was breath taking! She was wonderful in a few other interactions as well. Give her a promotion!
As for the hotel, we really enjoyed it. It seemed quite intimate with a beautiful ambiance. The suite was very spacious, bed was comfortable which meant we always had a good nights sleep. The location is fantastic, lots of stuff close by. There are several pools in the hotel, bars and a nice restaurant (pricey though!). The beachfront was nice also. There was a varied breakfast selection that was delicious each day. We absolutely loved the spa & massage, very relaxing way to end our trip to Agadir.
Although the rooms were nice they are quite dated.

staff are friendly, try to their best to handle requests
I had buffet dinner and wanted to try couscous. Chef made efforts to prepare couscous, it was very nice.
I reserved a room for 3 people - parents and a child and as per booking.com, paid extra to reserve ocean view one with extra. When we arrived at the property, was advised that my 15 year old son needs a separate room. It doubled the prices and felt it’s not worthy for that amount. There are many other good hotels in the area, who could cater a 15 year old child in one room for much lower price.
The beach side restaurant and bar did not have any music. On the first night , decided to have dinner there. It was dead quite , without any music , like in a care home. The atmosphere felt very isolated, missing the vibrancy. When asked about the music, was told that speakers are not working. It was not a Sofitel standard, giving excuse that speakers are not working.
At the beach restaurant, staff are friendly. However, many do not understand English at all. I asked for gin and tonic. The waitress smiled and nodded her head. But, the drinks never arrived. I had to go to the bar to ask again. And all menus are in French, without much consideration for English one as well.
The room card needed activation, every time we leave the room and wanted to go back. Reception desk is a long way. When you are on a hurry, it is a lot of effort

The Sofitel Thalassa in Agadir is a top five-star Hotel with all luxury and expected amenities, top servive and a fantastic huge garden with two large swimming pools, one of them heated that a guest willing to pay the price
can expect. All of the team is well trained and friendly and helpful in a way that cannot even always expected
in the class of luxury Hotel. We like to make a special mention as regards the kindness and unusual service we received from the waiter Rachid and also for the very special attention and service to us by the Manager looking after the breakfast buffet organisation. There is no more to say. The Hotel is perfect and can be fully recommended as a Five-Star Resort.

The room wasn’t clean. There were bed bugs. I called the reception at night and they advised me to call back in the morning. Also the toilet was on flush mode all night, reception advised me to report it in the morning

the hotel experience was good but the staff tried to make me pay twice for the breakfast, make sure the system you use shows the evidence for the payment of customers , and i also witnessed some differentiation between Arabs and foreigners, foreigners were more privileged which was concerning to me.

This is an exceptionally well-appointed hotel which more than justifies it's 5-star rating. Our ocean view room was wonderful with coffee and tea facilities, big fluffy towels, excellent king size bed, comfortable furniture, plenty of plugs in the right positions.
There are three swimming pools one of which is heated. The hotel has created their own private beach with upholstered beds, couches and chairs. (No loungers) there is a delightful beach side restaurant open for lunch and Tapas in the evenings.
There is a drinks service around the pools and on the private beach.
There are two main indoor restaurants, the buffet is open for breakfast and dinner the Moroccan al la carte just for dinner,
You can order a continental breakfast in the room for about £20.
The staff could not be more helpful, there was a mix up with our departure which meant that we awoke at 05:00 by mistake, they were very apologetic and chose not the charge us the agreed £50 for a 5 hours extended check out.
The heated pool was not very warm.
The beach is extensive with the seas edge some 200 yards from the hotel The water was very cold (January) and few were swimming. This is a windy location favoured by surfers but not ideal for swimming. (this may vary depending on the season)
By local standards the restaurant prices were high but the food is excellent
