The staff were very friendly and the onsen hit the spot after a long day exploring Zao. The dinner(s) were excellent and well worth the price. I suggest that you eat in the dining hall as there are little opportunities to find places to eat later in the evening.

Our first impression was not a good one. The hotel is older and in need of cleaning and repairs. The double room is not much more than you would find at a business hotel. I suggest you get the Japanese room as the one we saw was much better than the small uncomfortable room we booked. The walls were dirty, the formica was broken and chipped around the desk, the furniture was old and scratched and the carpet was dirty and patched with tape.

The staff was super nice, they provided us with all necessary transportation, they were super supportive, and the whole atmosphere was great. Also, the food was very delicious!! And we had a great view from our room :)

The room was not super clean, so we cleaned what we could, but staff should definitely clean rooms more properly (including floor and walls).

Wonderful stay. Beautiful Japanese-style room with a lovely covered balcony area with great views over the town. Exquisite food. Very helpful staff. Room was warm and well-equipped and the hot spring baths are open 24-hours so were never too busy. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of town, ropeway etc but this meant that it has great views over the town and to the mountains beyond. Shuttle to the bus station available.

2 open onsen (hot baths) 24 hours, breakfast and dinner gorgeous, staff very nice and bell crickets as pets in reception. Wonderful stay.
