Felt like a home from home .

Breakfast very good . A pool to relax in with wonderful views of Duoro river valley . The location is spectacular . Our host ,Angela , and the staff were excellent .

Simply magical. The view, the staff and the property!

The stay was fabulous. The road to get there was tricky, but manageable in the daytime. Angela is a magnificent manager and so gracious and accommodating. Everything from the welcome drink, to the meals were outstanding. So was the wine! Our room was comfortable and very clean. Just an exceptional stay all around.

If you would like a relaxing place in the Douro Valley with great service, it's Quinta Da Marka.

The location is the very best, with wonderful views every which way you look. The staff is exceptional with Angela and Marie doing a phenomenal service and looking after all of what we needed. They also had great suggestions on what and where to visit. We will definitely be returning in the future. The food was outstanding both breakfast and dinners.

Fantastic small hotel situated on working vineyard, furnished old world charm. Lounge, library and many outdoor areas to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the amazing views over the Douro Valley and river. Angela and her staff were fantastic offering great service, we were treated like royalty. She picked us up from train and ferried us around to and from train station and to a nearby vineyard for lunch and wine tasting. Best breakfast we've had on our travels though France, Spain and Portugal. Room was amazing with all amenities great view of sunrise, river, and sorounding vineyards. We enjoyed their beautiful rose wine produced on site at a extremely reasonable cost, they had others but we only drank the rose with it's crisp and fruity taste. Great pool with plenty of sun lounges and of course the fantastic views. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing time out from the rigours of travel, we stayed 3 nights and loved every minute there.

Beautiful stay in the Doura valley

Exceptionally beautiful view of the Doura valley. Lovely family home, we were made to feel very welcome. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, we were transported to and from the local train station. Delicious red wine and traditional local food. Thank you we had a wonderful stay and will return one day

Wow! The setting and view from the property and particularly the pool is unreal. A picture does it no justice. Food was also very good Staff was very accommodating and pleasant

amazing location with a beautiful view. room was clean and bathroom was large.

service for dinner was quite slow. when we notified management, they did everything possible to accommodate us, and they went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. we appreciated their efforts greatly.

Sublime, Paradise in wine country

Just gorgeous! This Quinta is possibly the most perfect place on Earth. Far surpassed my expectations! For much of the day my family and I had the whole place to ourselves and I felt like I had stepped into an episode of lifestyles of the rich and famous! The main reception rooms were beautiful and welcoming. I feel asleep for an hour in the leather chair by the window in the lounge. Angela and Maria were the loveliest of hostesses. The welcome drink of estate Rose was superb along with the small tasting platter of cheeses. Breakfast was fab (and included) and way more than we could eat. Thank you Angela and Maria for a lovely stay.

If I had to pick (and by no means did this detract from our stay). My dinner choice of Lamb was disappointing. Coming from Australia our Lamb is excellent and perhaps I expected the same. Everything else at dinner was wonderful

Beautiful view, comfortable stay and excellent food!

The property is comfortable and cozy. The food was delicious and the staff was terrific! We had 3 rooms and were lucky to have the place to ourselves. The kids enjoyed the pool and the view is spectacular.

Overall it was great but the drive to get there is a little tricky.

Brilliant Place to Stay. Location, Staff, Manager, Pool all well above expectations. Super HUGE Breakfasts. Lovely Evening Meals. Easy to explore once there via train (station 1 km away)

Absolutely Nothing. If you Drive there the road from Porto is a challenge for people who don't like narrow mountain roads. But there is a great Train service from Porto to within 1 km (the manager will collect you if needed)

The property is a beautifully maintained and renovated Portuguese small farm but within a village. All built of stone. very beautiful and full of character. There are peacocks and other animals on the property. Each unit is its own unique little space. There’s also a large rec room area with a pool table. We didn’t use it, but if you had enough time, it would be a beautiful place to hang out. The kitchen is unique and beautiful. All stone fireplace, oven, and very traditionally furnished. The breakfast Eduardo served us was fabulous.

One of the best places you could stay - enjoy!

Fantastic property, accommodation, meals and staff. Loved every moment there. Superb location just above the Douro river, with sweeping views of the valley. Architecturally a lovely building with very comfortable accommodations, and heaps of different outdoor sitting areas. Loved walking up through the vineyards to the little chapel at the top. Wonderful hearty breakfast. And they prepared for us on a holiday a terrific dinner with matching wines from Da Marka and neighbouring Do Noval. The staff deserve special mention. Everyone was terrific, Maria and all the rest, but especially the manager, Angela, who literally went out of her way to pick us up at the top of the hills when we had a wrecked tyre, back again to meet the pickup truck and later to the little train station at the river so we could continue our journey. Quinta da Marka is very much a highlight of our European adventure.

If you want a great stay in the Douro river valley , stay at Quinta da Marka

This was our best day in Portugal. We love the facility and the staff. Awesome views. Rooms are very nice And comfortable. Angela gave us great tips on local Quintas and restaurants. Would love to return someday.

Outstanding!

The views were spectacular! Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and delicious! The hotel is a beautiful, tastefully decorated home/ Quinta of 7 rooms. You have your space and privacy and feel very much at home. Again, beautiful views!

Quinta da Marka was a perfect place to take in the beauty of the Douro Valley

Quinta Da Marka has a pristine view of the river and rolling hills of the Douro Valley from multiple locations on the Quinta, including our room, the pool, patios and dining area. The staff was warm and welcoming. When we arrived mid-afternoon, Susana prepared a delicious lunch for us. We chose to relax and take in the ambiance on the patio near the pool all afternoon until dinner. Both dinner and Breakfast were delicious! Our room was comfortable and quiet. Upon our departure Angela gave us many suggestions of places to visit. We would highly recommend this Quinta for a deluxe and relaxing stay.

We enjoyed everything about the property. We would suggest eating dinner at the Quinta, as it would have been too long of a drive to dine elsewhere. Plus, the dinner was great!

An amazing escape from the typical touristy days where you can enjoy secluded luxury with your loved ones.

Amazingly friendly and thoughtful staff. Beautiful scenery and convenient to the Ferrao train station. Very comfortable bedding and implacably maintained grounds.

WiFi coverage spotty in some areas, shower needs some minor repairs. Relatively small rooms but has everything you need.
