Nice spacious villa with deck. The gardens are beautiful and each villa is very private from the others. Great that it is adults only - very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed being able to hire a nice new scooter from the proprietors for a whole week at a very reasonable rate - it is the perfect way to get about the island and to be able to pick up supplies and visit restaurants and beaches. We were pleased to have a proper kitchen in the villa and the fittings and decor from recent refurbishing are very nice. The mosquito netting on all windows and the door was in good condition with no gaps. The bed was comfortable. Good to have free use of bicycles and kayaks. The two restaurants and cafe within walking distance are very nice and convenient. Everyone is very friendly.
Our villa did not have air-conditioning (the proprietor's website explains this, but the entry in booking.com does not make this clear) and the ceiling fan was underpowered. We were OK but in hotter weather it might be pretty uncomfortable at night. We booked a lagoon cruise with the office but were not warned that the cruise operator (Kia Orana) would want cash payment on the boat before bringing us back to shore (fortunately we had taken enough cash with us but it could have been rather awkward). It would have been useful to have a dishbrush and scouring pad provided in the kitchen, especially as the weekend breakfast (which you have to cook yourself) included eggs, and the pots were quite hard to get clean without either. The staff are not on site from 1.30pm on Friday until Monday morning.

Tai Roto is steps away from a gorgeous bay in the lagoon surrounding Aitutaki. The staff are friendly and helpful and warm. The breakfast is a tropical delight and delivered to your bungalow each day so you wake up to coffee, fruit, cereal, yogurt and other treats. I would highly recommend this property for a stay in Aitutaki.
We didn't stay long enough and we were there for a week.

Great location near great cafes and bar, nice swimming and view out the front of the amazing lagoon!

Superb location, great to have such a spacious air conditioned apartment right on the beach. Comfortable bed, great amenities, friendly staff, good breakfast, walk to the pub. Absolutely loved it and was very sad to leave.
Having to leave.

We loved our stay at Tai Roto Bay. Very tidy place with friendly helpful staff, cute cats, water was crazy warm and always calm and the beach was private. Having access to kayaks, bikes, paddle boards was epic. The daily breakfast was awesome! We would happily come back and definitely recommend.
Not many options for dinner if you don’t have a scooter or car but the Villa has a kitchen so you can cook for yourself. The property is just a little far from everything but we didn’t mind as we biked everywhere, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.

We have spent a beautiful 5 days on Aitutaki and loved our villa at Tai Roto Bay. The hosts were fantastic, breakfast delivered every day was delicious, Sean our guide on the lagoon tour superb. It is really paradise!!! A plus was the walking proximity of 4 restaurants as well. Plus free bikes and kajaks. We would go back to Tai Roto Bay again.
Everything was perfect!

Everything!!!
Staff, location, resort….but most of all the personal touch. breakfast was amazing, fresh and catered very well to dietary needs. It was delivered to rooms…and a highlight of the holiday.
The limited number of bungalows ensures a very private holiday. The photos online do not do justice to the villas.
Best location in Aitutaki…short walking distance to cafes and restaurants.
Most importantly , this property is owned and run by very dynamic locals, employing locals. Its fantastic to support a property that gives back to the community of Aitutaki.

So peaceful, great kayaking and snorkling.
Cafe an restaurants within walking distance just down the road. car hire for trips around island.
No tv or movies for those rainy nights can only read so much.

This is a family run business and they excel in providing an excellent experience for their guests. Nothing is too hard for them. You feel so welcome from the moment you step off the plane and are greeted at the airport. Yet you still have time to be alone and experience the natural beauty of the island.
Perhaps a small compendium in the room with details on local businesses and also what they provide at the office (dvds for the tv), wifi info, etc.

Comfortable room, beautifully presented in a gorgeous wee resort. The location facing into the lagoon was lovely, with a deep swimming hole right in front of the beach. The beach loungers under the coconut trees were perfect for relaxing. There are some good restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk.
This is the nicest beach in the area.
Nothing - however note that there is no AC in some rooms so if you struggle with high temperatures bear this in mind! Next time I would book a room with AC.

Breakfasts were great. The staff were lovely. And we appreciated the use of the complimentary kayaks, bicycles and snorkel gear. Loved the kitty visitors too :)

Located right beside an amazing swimming spot, a short drive to some of the best snorkeling you’ll ever see and within walking distance to the boathouse restaurant and popular the boat tours. Would highly recommend Tai Roto to anyone visiting the island.
Cheran picked us up with the warmest welcome from the airport. The accommodation was modern and clean and we had paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling gear to use for free. Cheap scooter rental from the property - couldn’t have been an easier process from start to finish.
And the breakfast would put a 5 star hotel to shame! Do yourself a favour and book yourself in.
It was perfect!

Beautiful beachfront location on the lagoon. Lovely intimate property with immaculately presented villas. The host, Cheran, was very friendly, helpful & professional as was all the staff we met. The tropical breakfast was exceptional, very tasty, filling and beautifully presented, delivered to our villa each morning. The option to self-cater is available with a full kitchen in the villa, however there are several nearby restaurants/cafes within walking distance to enjoy…the Koru Cafe served great coffee & food, staff amazing👍 Loved our 3 night stay here, wished it could have been longer!
Nothing…everything was exceptional👍

The owner Cheran was so hospitable, she met us at the airport and greeting us with a Lei. On arrival to the accommodation, we were given fresh coconut to drink from. There were many great amenities, including paddle boards/kayaks, snorkeling gear, and cheap scooter rental to easily scoot around the island. The breakfasts brought to our room were also amazing, with fresh exotic fruits and freshly baked bread. Cheran ensured we had the best experience during our stay - including going out of her way to get us booked on the Lagoon cruise, which would not have otherwise left with only the 2 of us! All in all, we had an amazing time

Amazing friendly hosts, with a gorgeous breakfast spread each morning. Newly refurbed, very relaxing and totally what you’d wan from a tropical paradise stay!

Location was to die for. Our room was the beach front unit and our 2 adult children and their partners had the Garden rooms. Literally right on the beach. The breakfast each morning was amazing- local fruit, juice/smoothie, cereal and yoghurt. Every morning a different tray arrived to our room. The unit was beautifully decorated and I didn't want to leave. We hired a car to get around as it is located on the Airport side of the island and if you want to see "town" you will need some form of transport
There is nothing to not like here. The water is warm, the sun is hot and the people working around the property were so nice to talk to as well. This is 5*

Loved the cats :)
This is a great resort for the more budget traveler - most first time travelers would probably find it super.
The location is on a quiet almost private beach, it's a bit muddy underfoot and there is a steep drop-off at all tides.
The kayaking is great and very handy to the cruises out to One Foot Island.
It's a very small complex with just a few rooms so very quiet. Lovely cats and a very nice host.
The owners have done their best to refurbish this resort, but keep in mind that for the price range it's in, most Kiwis would expect better. You'll enjoy it here if you keep that in mind.
This review is for the garden view rooms, please note the two beachfront rooms are much nicer and if I went back I'd only stay in one of them.
The garden view rooms are very basic, self catering at a basic level, no A/C which is a real problem even in winter as there are so many mosquitos outside. It got up to 29 degrees in August. The rooms have been refurbished to a certain extent but not really modified so there is no TV, no lounge furniture, and very few power points, no bedside lights for reading. There are a lot of tiny ants too in the kitchen so don't leave any food unsealed. Beds are very small. It is very hard to get provisions on this part of the island unless you have transport, and restaurants are often booked out, and in bad weather they often don't even open so come prepared. Also be very careful with your keys - it is very easy to lock yourself out and as the manager does not live onsite, you could be in for a rough night. Mobile coverage is patchy and there is no wifi and the resort does not sell vouchers for the vodafone hotspot.
It would have been wonderful if the whole complex had been refurbished to the standard of the beachfront rooms, and the bed and furniture of that standard in all rooms.

The people who run Tai Roto Bay are so incredible, Cheran and her family were so accommodating to us, she picked us up to and from the airport, organised a scooter to be waiting for us at our room and booked in dinners/activities. Our Garden View room was exceptional, it was very spacious, beautifully maintained and had everything we needed - even had a view of the amazing lagoon! Breakfast was better than we could have imagined, delivered to our door each morning and varied from fresh fruit, muesli, homemade scones, toast, smoothies, toast ect - so delicious! There were Kayaks, SUP’s, snorkels and bikes to use whenever we wanted! The boat shed bar and restaurant was our go to and only a couples mins down the road, same with Koru Cafe and the blue lagoon which were delicious. There are too many things to list that we loved about Tai Roto Bay and will be back as soon as we can!
That we had to leave :(

We stayed at Inano beach bungalows for 3 days and we did not want to leave! The staff were so friendly and welcoming but also delivered exceptional service and great local knowledge. I would return back in a heartbeat!
The only thing I could fault is there is no aircon in the rooms only one fan on the ceiling so it did get pretty hot at night. They have recently taken over the property and are doing lots of renovations, so hopefully aircon is on the agenda!

Large room with self cooking facilities if inclined to use. Bungalow fronted the beach and nice aspect among the palms and looking out to a brilliant turquoise lagoon. Ten minute walk only to three nice eateries for breakfast and or for dinner. Short drive to the airport.
Hot water early in the morning can be hit and miss as is solar so was a cold shower the first day. Check out is at 0930, a little early. Would have liked to see more of the lagoon itself compared to the location sited just around the corner out of sight in effect.

The accommodation was wonderful. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The pick up at the airport was very warm with a very nice welcome and flowers. The accommodation is very well maintained and clean.
The location is ideal, close to dinner and breakfasts. Thank you for the great experience and the wonderful time.

We were met at the airport by Cheran who greeted us with beautiful ei that they make themselves. Cheran and Poni were amazing hosts. Inano beach is a beautiful and clean place to stay. We chatted away to them both and Puna. We hired a scooter onsite. We will definitely be back again. The beachfront bungalow has an amazing view of the lagoon, which is also beautiful to swim in.
