Super comfy en suite room with all amenities, prime location for Mt Omuro and other attractions, incredibly friendly and helpful owners, and some wonderful dogs too!

The room space is big. The view of sunrise from room is nice. The host is friendly and with well-spoken English.

The owner, Tack, and his wife were very welcoming and friendly. They even arranged a free shuttle service to and from Izu Kogen Station for us. Our room was incredible and came with an automatic bathtub. And we got to meet their 3 beautiful doggies 🐕

The room was spacious with a great view. The staff was very friendly and gave a lift to the station.

Really liked the view from our seaview room, couldn't really see the sun on our last morning due to the clouds but that's okay! It was a good view, the owner told us the time for sunrise too so we wouldn't miss it! The attached private bath has good hot water and water pressure. Beds were a little too soft for me but my friend liked hers so it's a matter of preference (we both slept well). Toiletries like a bath towel per person, shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided. There are two tables, 3 chairs in the room with twin beds, it's very spacious. There are clothes hangers and a hair dryer (in a small cupboard), and a drink vending machine outside the house. Heating is easily adjustable, and a small fridge is in the room too. The best part of our stay was the owner's warm hospitality, he drove us (at 7.30am) to Izu Kogen station so we could catch the train, and all we needed to do when we returned was to call him for a pickup after 4pm when we returned from our day trip. (He brought us to the supermarket on our first day) The reception had a list of nearby attractions and restaurants you can call for reservations too. We didn't have to sort our trash either, we left them near the door of our room and it was taken away promptly when we were out.

Maybe we were told but forgot or didn't understand Japanese well, but we were a little surprised when we came back to our beds made perfectly and sleepclothes folded because of housekeeping during the day. We had assumed that no one would enter the room but... It's just a little shocking.

Our stay at JoyInn was great! The owner made sure that our stay is memorable. He offered a shuttle service for the surrounding attractions twice a day which made sightseeing very convenient. The room we stayed in was comfortable with a good view, but after two nights we got an upgrade to a bigger room with an even better view! They even offered a few snacks and drinks to buy if you needed something in the evening. Overall the owner was very lovely and the rooms are very comfortable.

Amazing staff and helps to drive from izu kogen station to/from hotel, rooms are big enough and view from the window is extremely beautiful.

No restaurants/convenience store nearby but you can ask the staff to drive you.

Charming building and decor, ocean views, manager was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. His service of picking up and dropping off at the station or other nearby destinations added exceptional value to what was already a great room at a great price.

Nice sea view from the room. Perfect location to visit Mt. Omuro and Shaboten zoo. Calm and sounds of nature.

Everything at JOYinn is simple and straightforward. No meals are provided, but otherwise you have everything you need, even a microwave in your room. Restaurants and Izakaya in walking distance (5 to 20 mins). Beautiful location at the foot of a volcano. Check-in until midnight. Free parking and free pickup service for those who arrive by train. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Walls between rooms are somewhat clairaudient, but because this is Japan most guests seem to adapt quickly and keep their voices down.

It had a nice view and was better than I expected it to be for a reasonable price too—a beautiful area with lots of things to check out nearby. I just love how it felt so home-like.

I guess the only thing that wasn't the best was the bed, it was a very firm bed but it was something to sleep on, and honestly, it wasn't the worst bed I have had to sleep on so I was okay with it, especially for the low cost of the room, worth it for sure.

It is a little bit far from the station but there are available buses right outside the station or you can always call the owner to pick you up coz they provide free shuttle bus/car. We were torn between buying food or catching the last bus as we have seen only 2 convenience stores nearby. Luckily, we called the owner and he told us that he can pick us up at the station. Imagine our relief! :) The owner is very kind, nice and accommodating. He speaks English very well so we were very glad as our Japanese is not that good. They have dogs as well. We were able to meet them upon request. :) We really had a wonderful stay not only because the property is nice but because the owner made us feel at home. He really went out of his way to help and accommodate all our needs.

There's only one pillow for each guest. It would have been better if we had more so we enjoyed doing pillow fight even more. Just kidding! :)
