Location is awesome - ! So close to the train station and access to Shinkansen. You can walk to the Hotel with ease (with luggage) from the station.

Pillow needs improvement.

This is our 4th stay in this hotel Always pleasant. It is close to main station in Ueno and sky Express to Narita Lots of markets and shopping places around .Always find new ones like the one opposite Ueno with Seria,Lift and Foo food court...most close at 8pm. Room was clean and room enough for bags The staff were very caring as we had our flight cancelled and the young girl at reception let me use hotel wifi and phone even though we'd checked out in the morning...thank you so much.

I missed this time their free hot/cold drinks area they used to have☹️ Maybe a suggestion to have hooks behind bathroom door for towels or bathrobe when bathing

This hotel, which looks quite new, had a very good location, only about 400 metres from Ueno station, which served JR lines and two metro lines. Also nearby is the Ameyoyocho district full of shops and restaurants. The wonderful Tokyo National Museum is also a walking distance away. Check-in was smooth, though like many hotels in Japan they are strict about check-in times. Interestingly, of all the hotels I stayed in during this trip over several weeks in Japan, the level of English among its front-desk and breakfast room staff was weakest. It was almost non-existant in this hotel, which was a surprise since this hotel is located in such a touristy area. Not a big problem really, because if necessary, I could use Google Translate, but noteworthy nonetheless. The room was compact but generally well equipped with most of the basic essentials: fridge, kettle, though I don't remember there being a mini-safe. There was desk-space with a good lamp. Wifi signal was strong (in the breakfast room too) and lighting was good. In terms of climate control, the temperature was centrally set, but unlike other hotels I reveiwed this trip, it was (in my opinion) set on the slightly cooler side (whereas other hotels often set it too warm for me). The room had a wall-mounted airconditioner which had a choice of cool-air or warm-air function. That way, whenever I found the room too cold, I would turn on the airconditioner to boost the heat. It was perfect. There were 2 power points on the desk and one near the bed. The bathroom was in good working order. Water pressure was good, hot water came through easily and drainage was good. The hotel has a self-service laundry room. It cost 800 yen for a small load (under 3kg) - wash and dry. Insert coins.

One small issue I had with the room was that there were only 2 hooks on the wall for jackets, raincoats etc, which was insufificient in winter when I had different jackets with different thicknesses. There was enough wall space for up to 4 hooks, so hooks could have been maximised especially since there was no closet in the room. The breakfast was a huge disappointment. While there was coffee and tea, there was no juice. Instead, there was a fizzy soda machine, which anyway broke down on my 3rd or 4th day and remained out of order for the rest of my stay (not that I cared for soda). The western options were limited: just bread, margarine (not butter) jam, yogurt and cereals. There were sausages and scrambled eggs (sometimes tamago too), a bit of salad (more Japanese style than western). No fresh fruit. Unlike other hotels, they end their breakfast unusually early (9am). Most hotels serve until 10am. There were days when I skipped my prepaid breakfast and went to the nearby Doutor Cafe instead.
