Cleanliness: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5
Comfort: 3/5
Noise: 3/5
Overall: I expected a bit more considering this was the most expensive hotel of my trip.
The extended review...
Cleanliness: 3.5/5 - Clean towels but there were some blood stains on my sheets. Overall the rest of the room was decent.
Service: 3/5 - Friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is pretty diverse but was the worse tasting of all the hotels I went to on my trip. I also found it weird that there were no usb outlets or outlets near the bed stands.
Comfort: 3/5 - Mattresses were comfy. The only thing is I upgraded to a nile view which equates to more noise at night. Wasn’t worth it to upgrade.
Noise: 3/5 - With the Nile view we were situated right above the outside lounge/restaurant/pool area. There was music up until midnight-1am which didn’t make for a peaceful stay.

This place is much more than a hotel. They are centrally located with 4 restaurants, 24 hour cafe, mini shopping center, and even currency exchange. Most of the staff was really friendly. Once you enter, it felt like a really nice hotel. Our issues were that going through 2 security checks each time you enter did not feel great as a guest. I heard this is common in Cairo though. Our other issue was that we reserved a room with 2 Queen beds and they were certainly not Queen beds as we know them in the USA. They also did not have outlets located above the nightstand which is very common everywhere else.

Good service, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are dated and not fit for today's traveller. One power point in a twin room, room and bathroom look tired and past their sell by date.

Great location in front of the Nile but very old and not maintained rooms. Worst experience for this category of expensive hotels.
Bathroom door did not close. Room had no amenities at all. Not even a clock which is embarrassing for such brand. No USB outlets, no iron, no creamer for tea/coffee. Would not recommend for this price. Better to stay in same category hotel in Heliopolis and pay less and Uber to downtown to explore.

The distance from Hotel to shopping was a bit much due the traffic, while I was on foot.

Great customer service great accommodation made me feel so special celebrating my birthday definitely staying here again

The hotel is clean and shiny, and the Nile view is great. My only concern is that it is already 5:30 pm and I am still waiting for my room to be ready, after being told "your room will be ready in 45 minutes" three times. I complained to the manager after the second time and was told that the non-smoking preference and bed type are not guaranteed. Are you seriously placing non-smokers in a smoking room at a 5-star hotel?

The hotel has a good clinic and a great pre med, who treated my broken hand duringy my stay. Both breakfast and parking are very expensive. Generally speaking, the hotel is over rated. I will not stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the intercontinental the room on the 12 floor with a river view was really nice.
We had several meals there and they were all of a high standard.
The pool and the surrounding area is great and always clean
My only complaint is the cost for the car to take us to the airport $50 US dollars for a small Hyundai is very expensive especially when it only cost $20 US dollars from the airport to the hotel it sort of leaves a bad taste in your mouth after an otherwise great experience

You have to consider that this is Egypt, so considering this the bad humor and bad mood of the staff is really not so much bad mood but overall Egiptian grumpiness.
The hotel is very nice and well kept, Cairo being Cairo is all dusty and it’s remarkable that the hotel is kept sand free.
We only had one issue with the keys and a reception staff unable and unwilling to help us. Again it’s a cultural thing. All being said the rest was all ok

This hotel is a very old one, but it still has a lot of charm.

The best of the hotel is the friendly staff and meal shops. Excellent food and all services to get inside the hotel. Great job 👏 👏 👏

Luxury hotel with friendly stuff. Using Uber was too inconvenient though, because the official entrance 9s different from the one guests use

Excellent place to stay as a family. Amazing breakfast spread. Enjoyed our stay

This is a good modern property and very well situated, the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. However the service at the restaurants is slow and disinterested. There's a lot of staff on hand, and they are so nice, but they don't seem to know how to do or they have not been trained. The Management, lot's of them, just stand talking to each other. Other than that it is a good property. I'd stay here again.

Check-in takes lot of time (it should not), they overcharged my credit card, rooms are a bit run down and airport transfer is crazy overpriced.

Nice hotel in need of room makeovers. Lobby is nice except for the smoke smell as many floors and lobby are smoking areas. We were out in a smoking floor and smoke from nearby rooms entered in.
Overall was good as it’s on the Nile

The hotel is fairly old with few electric outlets. Our refrigerator was barely working. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Restaurants were good coffee shop had slow service and was the opposite of every other venue or vendor.

Very noisy at night, you may be better off with a room far from the pool and the night river area.
The staff is very confused about hours of operations and more than once they told a restaurant or bars were closed when they actually weren't.
The restaurant Date and Night have Ramadan night but does not specify that they start at 800pm for guests and 600pm for locals. We sat at the restaurant at 600pm because no one was at the entrance and within few minutes the manager came and yelled at us and told us we were not supposed to be there. It was a very unpleasant experience, and I would not stay again in this hotel because of how rude their employees can be.

The hotel is in a great location, amazing view over the Nile and in good condition. While the staff are very friendly, they are not efficient. So at breakfast you have to wait ages for them to clear and set tables, bring coffee etc.. the same in the restaurants for other meals. We ordered food, they brought the wrong food over, then the wrong bill. Another time they forgot part of the order, then took ages to bring the missing item over. I’d recommend for the location and views but they are reliant on that
