Upon arrival I provided a card for incidentals. I was told that card declined. I knew I had the funds on the card and ran it again. I was told it declined again. With it being late I just provided another card. The next morning I noticed a hold was placed on both cards. My daughter went to the front desk and was told there was nothing that could be done; it’s a card issue. Only one card has been released as of today.
Our first room was issued on the 3rd floor. My daughter tried taking a shower and after 7 minutes the water still did not heat up. We called front desk and were moved to the second floor. The desk clerk met us at the elevator and told us because the hotel was not at full occupancy to allow longer for hot water to heat.
Hot tub was disgusting. There was mold in the corners and a ring of dirt floating around. The rest of the hotel appeared to be well kept.
The employee working breakfast in the mornings was very snappy and moody. She talked to her self about being frustrated with the job.
I was very disappointed and considering I was there to visit my father who was on life support made my trip harder.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. However our room looks like the housekeeper did not clean at all. There were a sticky substance on the floor by the closet, some stains on the wall, a lot of crumbs by the TV. One of the pillows had an orange stain. Also the shower head was leaking water and dropped on the metal drain and it kept you up at night.

I am impressed at how friendly and attentive the staff is, from the front desk to housekeeping.
On our first night, we didn't have hot water in our bathroom. I told the front desk about it and she took note and said she will notify maintenance. It was resolved very quickly.

We arrived after check in and while the room was ready, our towels were not. They brought them up within an hour. There was not any coffee in the morning during breakfast. When asked if they were making more the response was that someone would look into it. They did not seem in a rush and I did not see them restock the coffee.

Too many loud children in the pool for several hours, very annoying since the pool was a major reason we came.

I was a guest at the hotel on November 22 and 23rd, shortly after checking out Friday morning when I was headed to the airport I realized I left two articles of clothing in my rooms closet… I immediately called and spoke to a Rosa at the front desk, she represented that she would retrieve the items and return them to me via federal express for which I provided her my federal express shipping number. I returned my home after two days I reached back out to find status, I ended up calling every day three times a day , getting the runaround from everybody I would speak with nobody was responsive. I ended up speaking to Rosa almost a week after my stay she said she had not heard back from housekeeping… Simply passed it off total laziness as I see it terrible customer service. I will never stay at this facility again

I called to ask for an earlier check in, the lady at the desk way unhelpful and not at all friendly. We wanted to check into one of two rooms about 40 minutes early. When we arrived, the same lady told us there were no rooms ready There were just a few cars in the parking lot. She was actually rude to us. We were on our way to the funeral of my sister.
On the other hand, the next day, the staff member, named Barbara, we helpful, pleasant, as she worked in the breakfast area. She really saved me from giving our experience a very negative score.

The floor needing some futher vacuuming. There was some damage to the hinge which the closet/bathroom door slides on making it a little difficult to close the bathroom door the last few inches.

I think room-service such as new towels and bed being made should be completed daily. Even when asked they would not comply. They told us to put our old towels outside of our room door and they were still there 24 hours later.

It was clean & the rooms are sound proof you can’t hear nothing from the halls I love that but they only had cereal and waffles to serve the next morning that part I ain’t like other than that it was beautiful I’ll be back

The young lady who checked me in was a stand-out. Recently I've stayed at hotels where the receptionist was either incompetent or insufficiently trained (or both), resulting in highly frustrating check-in experiences. That definitely did not happen at this hotel. The young lady who checked me in was efficient, friendly and helpful. It was a startling and welcome contrast to the other places where I've stayed recently. Kudos and thanks to her.

Only thing I didn’t like was too many kids couldn’t relax in the Hot Tub they were running around and just super loud and they were running up and down the hallway. Too much chlorine also had my eyes burning.

I loved cleanliness of the room, and the receptionist personality, but far as the hospitality of the kitchen area, the lady was rude and wasnt nice at all. I came down around 9:10 and ask for more pancake mix, because the other side was out and I dont eat apple products in or out of my food. So the remark was we close soon and we were not refilling anything up, ok we still had 40-45 minutes left before 10a.m., so you could've done a refill one last time at 9 or 9:10a.m for the the remainder of the hour, there was nothing left, my granddaughter got the last burnt cheese omelet and the remainder of the regular pancake mix, there were several guests upset because everyone don't do apple products...So i feel like that wasn't professional at all, for the price we paid to stay in your hotel, we weren't treat like quality guests. So i just feel like the kitchen help should be more considered toward your guests needs. Trust me the young lady that worked Saturday morning, Sept 2, was very expectational, and never made a remark like that, she took good care of us, but the short young lady that worked Sunday Sept 3, her customer services were unacceptable. I just would've like to be treated a little bit better, cause I like said the price i paid, i could've went somewhere else and probably got better food and good quality services...Thank you for at least letting me have a clean room to sleep in, breakfast is not acceptable...

My family & I were in the city of Detroit for a funeral and I'd booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for my 80 year old mother and my family. I found the morning staff (set-up for breakfast) delightful and so friendly, simply a pleasant experience. They answered any question we had concerning directions, etc. The rooms were very clean & open, great outdoor window light (these are always a plus for me) especially because my sister is a germaphobe. We love to see as well as smell cleanliness.

Very thin walls. Could hear EVERYTHING! Thermostat did not work properly. Dirty carpet when I was lord in. Crumbs from a cookie were everywhere. Dirt in the restroom as well. Like it wasn’t swept or mopped.

I've stayed at a few hotels in Livonia in this same price range, and the Hampton Inn on Schoolcraft is so far at the bottom of the list.
The state of the room was rough from the start. Massive crack along the ceiling, stains on the walls, Microwave was broken, Coffee Maker wasn't clean, Ottoman was worn down and broken, Toilet Seat unstable, and the Sink drain was backed up. We couldn't be put elsewhere, owing to the hotel being booked up due to a local power outage.
We requested room service twice to clean the room, and never received it. No vacuuming, no change of sheets, and leaving us with one trash bag and three towels to last two people a five night stay. What we DID get, however, was a request on our last night there to let maintenance in to replace a breaker, which couldn't wait until after we left because it would just be inconvenient for them.
On our second night there, apparently someone tried to break into our car, or at least vandalize it, jumping on the hood and kicking in the door. Not the Hotel's fault per se, but the lack of concern/help from front desk when we reported it, and the inability to assure us of anything being done... look, bluntly, this is not a safe place to stay, and doesn't care about being one.
And I want to be fair, account for the power outage, the overworked staff, I get it, but for what we paid, and how long in advance we booked, "Functional, Clean, and Safe" is a bare minimum to meet, and Hampton Inn simply did not.
