the place needs upgrading; low class room for communal microwave use, amenities in room sucks. But, the staff do well keeping the place clean. It not their fault management needs to invest in upgrading the place, pictures online do not convey the truth. I stay because the staff was trying with the cleanliness. Nelson the receptionist was very nice and tried to support my disappointment. Allamanda has potential. Upgrade the place. Long term benefits will be returned.

Walking distance from the beach is a plus, the pool was a bit dirty, so we didn't indulge. The lady at the desk was really nice, Mitch could do some work on customer service. Unfortunate that the restaurant was closed down.

Alamanda is a reasonably priced beachfront resort with the best location on a world class beach. There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. We have stayed several times as have so many of their guests and will most definitely return.

Clueless staff, no amenities, all but one outlet is USA standard, gym a disaster, pool a disaster and no restaurant! I would never return or refer someone to this resort. It should be torn down and taken over by new investors!!!

On the beach and close to many dining options. It doesn't get any better than this. The public park next door can get a lttle loud with the music but everything else about this location is perfect. The staff were excellent and very helpful. We are returning next year.

The property is nicely situated and a great price point. The hotel is very clean and has incredible staff. You are surrounded by great restaurants which are a 3 minute walk away. I would like to note that this property is wheelchair friendly and has accessible rooms! There are very few on the island that offer this!! I want to thank the family that owns this hotel for going above and beyond to help us and ensure our stay was wonderful. Special thanks to Louise for being extra kind ❤️

Warning STAY AWAY !!!! EXPEDIA MUST BE SUED OVER THIS PROPERTY . They ARE LYING !!! The place is for sale and they are letting it go!!!! No front desk clerk after 1 only a security guard. We got there and the toilet was not cleaned when we checked in. I won’t say any more. !! TRUST US We got our money back LUCKILY!!!! Locals say the same . No one checks in here anymore! Back in the day apparently it was the place to stay but that day Is LOOOOONG GONE. STAY AWAY

The property was close to the mall or catching the bus; my room felt cozy although outdated; but I felt comfortable which was surprising! Something about the hotel made me feel good!

The property offered bear minimum and appeared better in the listing than in actuality. Despite this, the space was suitable for the few nights we stayed there. The location of the hotel was very convenient - within walking distance of a supermarket, mall and street food. The restaurant on property was closed but the accessibility to off property locations by foot was helpful. When my group really needed the support of the staff, they were available and ready to assist. Very helpful and provided recommendations for the facilities needed. Overall my stay was ok.

Hotel very clean , great location but very tired, reasonable price for the area

We were advised after we booked that there was no restaurant. This meant that we had to eat out for all meals. We bought food in for breakfast and used the room fridge. The property is very run down and is in need of refurbishment but the bed was very comfortable and the housekeeper was very pleasant and the room kept clean. Only stayed for 6 nights which was fine. 2 weeks would have been tedious!

Great location in center of Grand Anse Beach, and the pool was nice. But rooms were dark, dated, and depressing. Our ocean view room was quite a distance from the ocean, and our bed faced an empty wall. The public spaces weren't much better, and the restaurant was underwhelming.

Outstanding location. The hotel is clearly not new; but it is well kept, super clean with excellent rooms providing all the extras like coffee machines, hairdryer in front of a big mirror, and even lovely large beach towels. One of the big factors is that the prices here are a fraction of any of the other hotels along the beach. There is no atmospheric beach bar etc at the hotel but good alternatives up and down the beach.

I usually stay at an AirBnB, but there is a lack of them on GrandAnse Beach. It is the cheapest option of Beach Front hotel there. It is clean, safe, quiet, not too crowded and I had a good time but it is falling apart. More like 2 stars. BIGGEST ISSUES: (a) The WiFi does not extend beyond your room. There is no WiFi on the beach. (b) The staff is very lazy in the mornings regarding beach chairs. The chairs are locked as late as 9 am. I like to swim early, and each day i had to call front desk to get the chairs unlocked . The beach chair man is however very over-active at 6:30pm, at which chairs must be returned. He will literally tell you to get off the chair as you watch the sunset. The chairs are old, heavy and bulky, and I doubt anyone wants to steal them.. (c) the hotel rooms are falling apart from age. During my stay, the 1. bathtub spigot fell off 2. coffee maker was broken 3. chair lining fell off 4. on some nights the water in hotel room stopped running 4. the toilet flush needed to be fixed Nearby amenities - (a) the supermarket and home goods store ( open on Sunday) are a life-saver for food ( as busses dont run after dusk and not on sunday). I always got GENLEG water there and most food. Supermarket gets new food on FRIDAY (otherwise it is out of stock). (b) The beach is public, so there will be locals and hucksters on the beach accosting the tourists. (c) there is a coconut shack and snacks by Radisson hotel (d) bring ECD cash

Bar and restaurant terrible

Location was great, bed was clean and comfy enough and the A/C was good, but the bathroom was not in great shape. Fixtures were dated and some pieces showed their wear along with a couple ants. Would expect a bit better for the price.The beach access is great, and the pool was quiet and clean.

Everyone at this hotel is very friendly and professional. I would stay here again. It’s close to a lot of shopping and great food.

This hotel has so much potential!!! You have lovely staff, a spectacular location with beach access, a decent pool, and a restaurant that serves delicious food!!! However, the property is tired and in need of repairs and updating, the rooms were worn to the point than even after they were cleaned by houskeeping they didn't appear clean. And the most unfortunate problem of all was the challenges to get dirty towels replaced. Also, if we wouldn't have requested new linens, it appears they wouldn't have been changed for a the full week we were there. I absolutely feel that this hotel should shine like the gem it truly is but the fatigue of the property and the stinginess with the towels/linens really do make a huge difference to your patrons.
