Lovely room, very comfortable and clean, really nice shower. The AC was loud, as was noise from the road, so request a room further back if you are a light sleeper. The courtyard is lovely and we enjoyed the complimentary cheese and wine in the evening. All the staff we came into contact with were super friendly and helpful. We found the hotel to be in walking distance of everything we wanted to do, with a lot of good places to eat and things to do nearby. Overall I would definitely recommend.

Cozy. Quaint. Comfortable. Great location in French Quarter. Sandwiched between three nice restaurants
( bars). Definitely a 3-star. Older property. Not a ton of amenities. Coffee in the AM available in courtyard. Nice touch to serve wine & cheese at 5 PM. Staff was polite and helpful. Will definitely return.

We had a great stay at the Elliot House. Our room was small, but comfortable and the tiled shower and original hardwood floors were beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the complementary coffee in the large outdoor courtyard each morning and happy hour with wine, cheese, crackers, and fruit in the evenings. It was also incredibly convenient to many of Charleston's best restaurants, shopping, historic churches, rainbow row, and the pineapple fountain.

Great spot! Right in the middle of everything and easy to walk around. Love it!

There was an overall feeling of lack of care - paint peeling from ceiling & walls, dead bugs along the baseboards, thick dust on bathroom light globes & entry door knob that wasn’t secure. Never going back!

We expected the charm of an older historic place. All was clean and comfortable. It was perfect walking distance to all amenities. The vibe was perfect. However, I do think the rooms could benefit from a dehumidifier or AC with a dehumidifier. When we would open the door, the room felt wet. We left the door open to air it out and let the cooler air in, and that helped but the dehumidifier could really help the humidity.

The location was fabulous. It is an older hotel and I thought it was over priced for the age and condition. It was the same price as the hotel across the street that was much nicer with a beautiful lobby and bar.

Perfect location, walkable to all things historic district. Room was nice and staff very friendly. This place was great.

Great location. Nice courtyard
But no house keeping, no coffee maker, poor insulation so noise from guests above, no blankets despite night lows in 40 s We paid over 400$ a night and did not feel it was good value

Loved the friendly staff and Jessica was very helpful moving us from a top floor noisy room facing the street to a quieter room further inside the complex. Really enjoyed happy hour each evening too

Absolutely beautiful property! Friendly staff. Location is great, you can walk to anything you can imagine

The room was fine, bed comfy, plenty of towels, and closet space. The only issue was the shower water was cold. It would start off warm and eventually turn cold. Other than that the stay was excellent!

Much better options for the price. This is more a $200 or less place. Location is the only positive thing.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The afternoon wine and cheese was a nice touch. A.M. coffee also appreciated.

I could hear everything in the room above me as they checked out at 4:30am. I could hear a guest snoring in the room next to me. There was a leak in my bathroom coming from the ceiling. No service what so ever. The hotel attendant had no people skills at all. This could be a good place if they had decent caring staff and some attention to details … never again for me.

Very noisy. Avoid units near the street.

This lovely hotel has a wonderful location in the historic district of Charleston with great restaurants and shops close by. There is a quaint courtyard in the center that has coffee available in the morning. The shower door in our room didn’t close properly but the staff were attentive to the information and said they’d take care of it right away. There is parking across the street which is convenient but costs $20/night.

Very quiet area. Walkable to a lot of the attractions in Charleston with restaurants close by. Pedicabs were a great option when you didn't want to walk.

We loved our stay there. Friendly front desk lady. Lovely wine, cheese, crackers, grapes, iced tea every evening 5-6 pm. Coffee in the mornings and iced water throughout the day. The room and grounds were very clean. We had a beautiful room with a serene view of the courtyard. It was quiet and private, yet we were in the middle of beautiful Charleston. Walking distance to the best restaurants and sights. No complaints at all!

The property is a DUMP! I don’t know when the on line photos were taken, but they are not recent photos and are not an accurate representation of the current condition of the property. To call it shabby chic would be kind, seedy is a more accurate description. In my courtyard room the paint was peeling in the bathroom and seating areas. The mattress sloped so much I thought I might roll out of bed during the night. The second night the hot water was only luke warm. There’s something wrong with the elevator only one person at a time can use it. In addition to the elevator there are two sets of stairs, one is barricaded and not accessible. They do not provide daily housekeeping. When I returned to my room after lunch and it had not been cleaned, I asked at check in for housekeeping, he was stunned that I’d like my room to be tidyed. When I returned later the bed had been haphazardly thrown together and clean towels were sitting on the vanity. That’s it. Nothing else. There is good news, the happy hour wine is a notch above the wine normally served.

Wine and cheese at 5pm everyday

Quaint place that would stay at again. Rather expensive but everything in Charleston is! Fabric chairs and ceiling fan need to be cleaned. Nice wine and cheese happy hour.

Excellent staff, quiet and great location. Three awesome restaurants within steps of the restaurant. Parking garage right across the street.

Stayed two nights. Good location. Room size okay, but overall look tired with wallpaper peeling off. Electric outlets old, bathroom small and tired decor. Air conditioning loud and not very effective. No room cleaning service during stay!
Free coffee in morning, late afternoon free wine and cheese.

Lovely room and courtyard. Helpful frontline desk. Excellent location, 82 Queen street right next door was excellent. I had tomato pie, she crab soup ( award winning and it lived up to its reputation ). And the queen’s sangria was very good. One caution about the hotel if there is a wedding or event it can be loud. I liked the music the band played so it didn’t bother me and it was over by 11 pm.

Disappointed The sink in the bathroom took quite a while to drain. The shower was cold water not able to shower properly we needed assistance to get the door open to our room due to a faulty doorknob. Not able to regulate temperature and no blanket. Poor reception for TV

It was a bit loud. Construction work woke me up at 5:45 a.m.

Perfect location. Next to 3 great restaurants and easy access to everything. They had weddings Friday and Saturday night at the museum behind the hotel which were incredibly loud.
