Budget stay with great location. Rooms were passable but a bit warm (was hard to cool them down at night). Recommend getting a room on any floor but the basement (windows do not open down there) and also facing the courtyard vs the road (noisy).
Older facility. Very warm rooms. Older washrooms.

Good location and value for the price. Easy set up and check in. Friendly staff.
Seems to be hit or miss depending on which building they’re using that summer. Last year we stayed in Chapel Bay and it surprised us how great it was for the price. That building must be newer because this time everything was in Alex Hall and the bathroom was horrible - moldy ceilings and shower curtains, smelled so bad, towels are blue and leave fuzzies on you. No AC so make sure you ask for a fan (they’re first come first serve).

The location was excellent and the staff at the front desk very helpful
THe bathrooms were pretty run down

it was initially cheap until we were billed for using scented perfumes according to them
it’s out of the way, the rooms are terrible there’s no facilities on site l, the staff are disorganized with paperwork flooding the reception it’s a shoddy operation
our last night there was a fire alarm going off in the room next caused by a hair dryer…. there was nobody around to turn it off for half the night

Great location close to downtown and price for the room was good

Loved the location and outdoor grounds.
Needed more blankets and beds were moderately comfortable.

It had a fridge. Very good location.
There was nothing I didn't like. Everything was as expected being a University Dorm.

Everything. I would stay here again
Everything was better than imagined

no breakfast but there is a nice place very nearby

Good value for money, great help from reception staff who were very accommodating getting fans and kettles set up.
Building has nearly no AC so in the height of the summer the rooms are absolutely stifling at night. Try to get a corner room with two windows if you can! Not the most comfortable beds either tbh

The territory is nice. We came after 8 pm and could benefit from free parking.
The showers/washrooms were not that clean and room didn't have coffee/tea option as well as hair dryer. The towels were old and the bed is not comfy.

Cost, location and great staff
A kettle and some mugs in the room would be great.

I was able to extend my stay for extra two nights simply by a phone call while I was on my way to Halifax. The location was a perfect option for the purpose of my visit to Halifax. My exam center was just about 9 minutes walk from the Hostel. The room is spacious, furnished with a fridge, a fan, a study table, a lamp and a wardrobe. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Lastly, the staff are diligent and excellent. Kudos to the management!

There was a mouse in the room :(

Slept really well - quiet, clean, comfortable room. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Location is a bit far from downtown, but near the lovely Halifax Gardens and a few nice cafes. Walk into downtown not too far. Good value for a comfortable stay in Halifax.
It would have been nice to have a hair dryer, otherwise everything was great.

The location was pretty good and the staff were very friendly. Everything was very clean.
The beds were very uncomfortable, and the building was very noisy in the morning because the doors slam everytime somebody leaves their room. I didn't get a good night's sleep there my entire stay unfortunately.

Very affordable for an overnight stay in Halifax, staff was excellent!
Room was a little warm (glad I brought a little fan), shared bathroom with all other rooms on the floor, but to be expected in a university dorm (although toilets and showers are in private stalls with locks, so not too bad).

Kings college let me stay in Halifax. I chose it because it was reasonably price.
They provided flannels + Soap + Towels + Sheets.
The floor despite being brushed clean, was still dirty, Kings College did mop it for me when I asked though. I hope they have made this a policy as I suggested

Good environment, good location to any where, quite and safe.
Stuff are friendly and their offer are genuine.

Rooms were bigger than I thought. Floors were small, so even though we were sharing showers and washroom it’s the whole floor, it wasn’t many people. parking was free on the weekend and was just outside of our building.
Doors on the rooms and washroom are quite heavy and clang fairly loudly when shut…and so we could hear clanging frequently until about midnight.

The location. Easy access to downtown in public transportation. No noise. The staff is very friendly and helpful in general. The desk and lamp in the rooms very convenient. The room was spacious for the price you pay. The laundry that is included. The mini fridge was very useful.
The shower head water string went everywhere except your body. All my requests during my stay were assisted except the following: My second room 444 was too cold and I went for the reception for some assistance on how to control the heater, I was told they will send someone but did not. I spent two nights I could not sleep properly because it was too cold.

Loved the wide space we had in our rooms. It was really great to have a fridge too.
The heating was a little strong in my room during my stay, so I had to keep the window open at night. There were some missing amenities from my room as well such as an extra blanket, shampoo, etc. but we asked for them at the front desk and were able to get them.
