Our group was in Sintra for a friend’s wedding and we searched for a house to fit us all. Even before we arrived, we felt taken care of. The check-in process was so easy and the house was absolutely perfect! It’s so charming and quirky, absolutely spotless with all the comforts of home. Each room was spacious and comfortable. The house is right near everything you’d need to walk to, yet quiet enough as not to disturb rest. We loved it here and highly recommend it to anyone. Dagmar is a superb host and even had chocolate cake waiting for us upon arrival! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This charming and comfortable home had everything we needed and more to accommodate our needs. The location was perfect and having a place to park was especially helpful for us! They even thought of young children and our son had a blast playing in his room and putting on puppet shows for us. The responsiveness was also positive and put us at ease through out our stay. We hope to come back some day and would highly recommend this location. You can’t beat three bedrooms that all have their own bathroom and an additional bedroom plus so much more space to talk, eat, and enjoy!

We stayed at Dagmar's property for 10 days and it was a wonderful base for us to explore Sintra. The house is super spacious and very comfortable with a huge kitchen and living area, plus a separate dining room in addition to the four large bedrooms. It is decorated well and feels modern but also very comfortable. One of the things we really appreciated were the light blocking window shades. It helped everyone sleep well. And we found the beds to be very comfortable. Our girls had a blast here. They loved the loft bed and the dollhouse was great fun for them. There were a few dolls but we happened to also be traveling with some small ones so that worked out. The kitchen has everything you need to self cater, but the property is also walking distance to restaurants and cafes. We had a car and there is a spot to park in front of the garage space. We walked into old Sintra in about 20-25 min which has loads of wonderful restaurants and shops. We used our car to visit Sintra's beautiful beaches and a couple of the castles. It's a great central spot to explore this gorgeous city from. We were so glad we stayed longer here so we could really enjoy Sintra. And Dagmar was a pleasure to book with--very responsive and helpful. The house is built over 3 levels with some very steep creaky stairs so if stairs are a problem this is not the place for you. Also the openings in the stair railing are large enough for a crawling baby/new walker to fall thru. Our 3 year old probably could have slipped through as well, but she was old enough to listen and we kept her downstairs for the most part when she was awake. There is a gate provided for the stairs which was great, but just be aware of this if you go with a small child.

Casa Jose Ricardo is perfect! The apartment is beautiful with spacious, sunny rooms. The bedrooms are very comfortable and easily accommodate privacy for a family or friends traveling together. There is a wonderful children's room with a crib and a magical bunk bed play house. The main areas include a living room, sitting room, a dining room/game area and a large well equipped kitchen. There is something for everyone to enjoy. We had a cooking workshop with a Portuguese chef recommended by Dagmar that was awesome. We all learned a lot and the food was unique and delicious. The house is immaculately clean and the bathrooms are lovely. While it is tempting to spend your time relaxing at Casa Jose Ricardo, Sintra and the surrounding area are filled with historic sites, hiking trails and amazing restaurants all within walking distance. For a 20-30minute drive (or train ride), you will be in Lisbon or on a spectacular beach with expansive sand and waves. Our family fell in love with Sintra and Portugal. We are already planning our next visit. Dagmar is the best hostess. She responds quickly to any questions. Driving directions, parking and entry instructions are provided clearly. The whole experience is so easy. You will feel at home immediately in Casa Jose Ricardo.

This is such a wonderful house close to the historical attractions of Sintra. My son and I and another family stayed here for 2 nights and we were so comfortable. The rooms are huge, the kitchen is well stocked if you feel like staying in to cook (a well stocked grocery store is a 5 minute walk from the house), the bathrooms are luxurious. Every nook and cranny was spotlessly clean. The owners have even provided plenty of games, books and dvds so you will not be at a loss for entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dagmar's house and hope to return again in the future.

The accommodation in Sintra worked out perfectly for the six of us. There was plenty of room and ample facilities. It was close to the train station and walking distance to the old town. We had an enjoyable stay there.

Such a beautiful property in a truly magical town. Very convenient to the train station which seemed very central to all of our activities. Everything was considered in preparing for guests - all the way to the peach bubble bath waiting for me after a long day travelling. Kids will love this place as it has all the amenities to keep them occupied from a lofted bunk bed with a play area and toys and stuffed animals and games. Also a real crib not just a playpen was a lovely surprise. Plenty of space to spend time together or have time alone. It was absolutely perfect and I would highly recommend!!! We stayed at Dagmar’s home in Sintra at the beginning of our trip. Sintra is a perfect way to begin or end a trip to Portugal. It’s a bit magical. Upon our arrival we were met by Dagmar who had squeezed fresh orange juice for us from oranges she bought at the market! She showed us her lovely home and talked about local things to do as well as restaurants to go to. We loved our stay here and spent plenty of time on the balcony over coffee or wine. The house is bright and comfortable. Though there were only two of us the home can easily accommodate a large party or family. We went Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. Both are must sees. We walked for miles and miles each day and loved every minute! You must go to the restaurant she recommended Taverna Cretivo! Absolutely fantastic! Thank you Dagmar.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Jose Ricardo. The apartment is spacious with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The kitchen is modern and well stocked with all of the amenities you need for cooking a meal. It is on a quiet street outside of the tourist activity but a short walk into the center of Sintra. There is a market and 2 grocery stores a short walk away. The train station is a short walk as are several good restaurants. Dagmar has really put a lot of thought into what her guests would need in detail. There are 2 living areas that are well furnished along with a room with an extra table and games. Everything was very clean and updated. A great place to stay. We hope to go back again.

We rented this beautiful, bright, spacious-yet-cozy for our three nights in Sintra and found it was a great location, had all of the amenities and was well-appointed for our needs. We could head out on foot for the day and come back exhausted at night to sit on the terrace, have a glass of wine and recharge & relax. We enjoyed our morning coffee and appreciated that ground coffee was available for us to use. We are on a two week trip around Portugal and it was great to be able to do our wash as well. There are two great local restaurants two streets down that serve typical food and wine at a great value, too. Sintra is an enchanting & magical place to visit and we found this house was the perfect accommodation to match. Thank you Dagmar!!

We spent 4 days here with family. The house is very clean, updated and spacious. Great location close to market and restaurants. Hosts were very helpful and always available to answer questions. My son specially loved the library of DVD selections.

We are traveling with our daughter and her family. The house was superbly well equipped for both adults and children, and all had their private areas. Our host was welcoming and helpful. The location is quiet yet close to the sites. We can enthusiastically recommend this home for anyone.

Just had a great experience recently in Sintra staying in this lovely apartment. The hosts were great! Very accommodating even with our small child and quick to respond if there were any issues. Location was also perfect. Some technical difficulties that I am sure the hosts will fix and overall the place was a bit dusty for those with allergies but overall very minor issues. We would definitely return.
