We came here for our long overdue honeymoon. It was perfect. We both wanted someplace very simple and cold weather and we for sure got that. We were snowed in for 4 days out of our 7 but it was worth it all!! The house was so cute the view was unbelievable. We loved that it was a full house so we could cook the whole time we were gone. We cannot wait to stay here again.
Charles and his wife were the perfect host. We had to call him a couple of times and he answered right away and helped us figure stuff out which had nothing to do with him or his home.
Our life has been super busy and stressful so coming out to the island was perfect. We came from Texas and it was worth every second we were here.

My friends and I had a wonderful getaway at this beautiful lovely home. You really are away from it all. Secluded but still close to town and stores. Home was well equipped with kitchenware. Beautiful water views.

My family of 5 had a great stay. The cabin is easy to find, is on an isolated property, right on the shore. Gorgeous sunrises with Mt. Baker outlined darkly against the glowing sky. The cabin is comfortable, and fit our family nicely. Lots of light. The house is on the well, and, as is the case for most wells on the island the water has a strong smell of sulfur. Perfectly fine for washing, but not pleasant to drink. The hosts are upfront about it, and provide large jugs of filtered water for cooking and drinking.

Great location near the water! Very Clean!
Kitchen was impressively stocked.
Host was awesome and there were extra blankets and firewood for fireplace (we stayed in early-mid December).
It was great to have and know about the well water in advance as 5 of us (my wife and I and 3 children ages 19, 16 and 12) and we were able to easily make this arrangement work!

We loved our stay! Even in soggy weather the view was fantastic. We would love to make this an annual event.

Amazing location with amazing views. Personally I could do without the beach-themed house decor, but that’s my only gripe. Would recommend it to anyone.

This property is huge, gorgeous, clean, and so welcoming! You are tucked away in your own little slice of heaven in the trees. The house has everything you could possibly need. Charles was an incredible host.

This house was in the perfect location to enjoy nature and relax. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We stayed in and cooked dinner then ate on the deck while looking out on the water. Can't wait to come stay again.

My wife and I stayed three nights and enjoyed all of our visit. The house is very well-furnished, comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The view across the water is beautiful, and the secluded location provides a peaceful retreat at the end of a day of touring the island.

This is a quaint little home off the beaten path but still close enough to Friday Harbor to run into town for dinner or shopping. However, 5 minutes on the back deck and you’ll never want to leave. Amazing views (sunrises are unreal), peace and quiet, and nature await you. We were not experienced enough to launch sea kayaks or crab rings from the rocky shore below, but enjoyed exploring the property anyway. The house could use a few upgrades/TLC, but it’s beautifully decorated and I would pay ten times as much for the view alone.

Absolute paradise. Sitting on the back deck, overlooking the water, relaxation defined. The house has a very well stocked kitchen to boot!

The property location was great! We were right in between Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor in a peaceful secluded location. We saw a bald eagle and some porpoise on the property. The only room for improvement was that the back door doesn’t lock and the shower head needs to be replaced.
We went on a whale watching tour with Western Prince and saw a pod of orcas which was amazing.

Amazing property with stunning views of the waters off of San Juan island. Short drive to Friday Harbor and Roche harbor. Great place to relax!

This property is wonderful! Quiet, secluded, perfect! Really enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the water. We saw deer, sea lions, eagles and more birds! It was perfect for renewing our souls!

We had an excellent stay at this wonderful waterfront home. The owner and manager could not have been more helpful. Never made it to the little beach since the trail was onerous however loved watching the ferries go back and forth. And saw a pod of Orcas!!! We will be back for sure.

Nice little house down a long wooded driveway. Kitchen was well stocked, beautiful views, quiet and peaceful surroundings, comfortable beds, nice deck area, nice and comfortable furniture.
Watch out for the spiral staircase placement. We made it through the stay without running into it, but we took bets on who would be the first to get a shiner from it. We appreciate the art piece made of beads and driftwood hanging on it to boost awareness.
The ants were a nuisance in the kitchen. They are more active this time of year and given the location it is somewhat to be expected, but for the price you do expect to not have to deal with these types of issues. We had a cake that we had baked and thought that it was completely sealed up but they found a way through the container and infiltrated our frosted friend.
Overall it was a pleasant stay. Thanks!

The open space layout combined with expensive views of the water created a peaceful retreat for our family.

We came back to the island to enjoy a little off-season down time and mixed it as a WFH/vacation. The house was perfect for it and the Wi-Fi made it easy for us to both have zoom calls and such without some of the issues we’ve experienced at other times on the island. The house was in a perfect spot and the views were constant and amazing.

My family and I loved our time here. There's a gorgeous view out every window and plenty to explore outside. The place is right on the water and very secluded, but just a few minutes drive from town. My kids (9, 12, 17) all want to come back! Definitely recommend.

The place is well away from everyone! We loved the quietness of it. Well appointed and in perfect shape. Only a short drive from Spring Street. Definitely plan to stay here on our next trip to Friday Harbor.

Property is as pictured online, very clean and comfortable, and views are spectacular! Feels very secluded but only 15 mins or less to Friday Harbor. We really enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching the ferries go by. Wish we had had more time to just enjoy the property. Charles was a great host and offered many recommendations for our short stay. The only issue we had was that the Alexa (which we had not noticed before bed) woke everyone in the house at 5:30 am announcing an incoming call. Future guests might want to be aware.... but overall, it was a lovely spot, and we would definitely recommend.

It is rare to find a place as quiet and serene as this location. The quietude and incredible view made leaving this small modest house difficult. And the fact that a resident fox kept watch over things added to the incredible charm of this home. Thank you for sharing Charles!

We had a lovely, quiet week at this property. It was well suited for our young golden retriever . . . The yard was big and very nice. The rocky beach was a bit too rocky for us, so we didn’t get down to the water. Unfortunately, the weather was cool and wet, so we didn’t spend as much time outside as we’d have liked. But the deck was nice, and we did manage some time there. Also enjoyed the swing in the yard.
Our only complaint was that the windows were very dirty, so much so that you really couldn’t see out of them very well. My husband immediately went out and washed windows, but the etching is on the inside of the double pane. Disappointing. We did better with the slider windows, and after cleaning them, we could sit at the table and enjoy the view.
Lovely restaurants and activities on San Juan Island kept us busy—walks at American Camp, English Camp, and Limekiln. And a highlight of the week was the “asylum” of Pacific loons that swam by.

Good getaway home
A thoroughly modern version of a large cabin in the country. Very up to date with all the city dweller's needs from full size kitchen and washer/dryer to satellite TV, internet, wifi, etc, but laid out in open form like a cabin, with one private bedroom on main floor and a big open loft up a spiral staircase with four single beds. Kids will love that spiral but older/weaker folks should stay downstairs. Long one-lane dirt road to get there added to the sense of "getting away" to this solated setting. The road serves about a dozen homes all on acreage. Never saw or heard anyone nearby. Just trees and that eagle. Location overlooks salt water passage with ferries passing. The resident eagle was pretty cool. But it was winter so we didn't play outdoors or go down to the rocky beach. We used it as base camp while touring the island every day. Very comfy to come home to and spend evenings with games and/or tv watching.

The house is well stocked for making a delicious dinner at home, and close enough to town for a dinner out. We spent most evenings with a cozy fire going, playing games, listening to music and just enjoying the solitude. We encountered a few deer, a chuffing sea lion as it swam past and enjoyed watching the eagle take off and land from it’s humongous nest in the tree just behind the property.
Our two dogs loved hanging on the back deck and exploring all the wonderful smells. All in all, it was the perfect property to de-stress, unwind and unplug. Thank you to our fabulous hosts for sharing this magical place with us.
