Everything about this property was just as advertised. Extremely clean, fantastic view! Very comfortable. Close to entertainment of park and Mentone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this property.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we pulled away was complete bliss. Our family enjoyed this stay more than any trip to the beach. I consider Mentone one of Alabama’s best kept secrets! Balpha met us at the lovely home to show us all the electronic functions etc. And as for the home.. you will notice attention to every detail was thought out. From the art work to the thoughtful color scheme throughout the home to the unexpected fresh flowers. This place had it all. And the view of the falls was the icing on the cake. We hope to return for years to come with family and friends.

We spent a peaceful holiday here, enjoying the mesmerizing views of the waterfall. It rained—but that just made the waterfall more powerful. The cottage is lovely and well-stocked. Nothing could be better!

This is our second time to stay here. The home is beautifully maintained and an excellent location. Such a gorgeous view even though the waterfall is only trickling these days due to the drought. We can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a relaxing & peaceful get away. The views were beautiful ! Both bedrooms had a view of the waterfall area. Only thing, there had been a drought with no waterfall. We prayed for rain, and the first night we had a heavy rain storm. And the next morning, it was still raining. So, we finally got to enjoy a small trickle of a waterfall before we left. But, the views and the peaceful feeling while staying there was a great experience, even without the waterfall in full force. We would love to return again.

Mentone never disappoints. The property was amazing. Overlooking the falls and close to downtown Mentone. Good eats nearby, hiking and horseback riding.
The owner was hospitaple. He took the time to walk us through and explain the lighting to the dishwasher. A 5+ star rating.

What a relaxing weekend at this beautiful property I have long admired from afar! I came here as part of my grief journey after losing my son a few months ago and it is a healing place. Even with the waterfall almost completely dried up (which I was aware of due to the severe drought this year,) my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated Balpha explaining how everything worked. My bed in the blue room was like a dream. The cabin is more beautiful than the pictures and everything seems very unique or high end. A feast for the senses and the soul.

The property was exactly what I expected from the listing - the house was spotless & comfortable & was stocked with everything we needed and the views were outstanding! Unfortunately due to lack of rain lately the waterfall wasn't much to behold, but we decided that just meant that we will have to return for another visit! We still had a great weekend & enjoyed the lovely Mentone area.

This was our first time staying at the "Cliff House" and it did not disappoint! The location was just magnificent! The cabin was clean and had everything we could possibly need. The falls were a little sad due to lack of rain, but we hope to go back soon when they are in full waterfall. Balpha was an excellent host even greeting us when we got there! Very nice host! We can't wait to go back to our happy place!

Pictures don’t begin to describe how beautiful this house and view are! Cleanest house we have ever visited and the view was spectacular!
Loved visiting with Balpha and hearing the history behind his grandmother purchasing the property. Would have loved to have met her. She sounds like an amazing woman.

Balpha did a great job making sure that we knew how to operate everything so that we could have the best experience possible. I recommend visiting The New Tiger’s Inn for breakfast while visiting.

I guess it goes without saying that the view is spectacular! But that is just the beginning. Balpha, the owner, is just an absolutely fascinating character. The property is very well designed and is as beautiful inside as the scenery is looking out the windows. The small town of Mentone is alive, fascinating and features all sorts of wonderful people! We had great food, great conversations, and it was an overall A++ stay!

We had a wonderful time at the Falls House! The view of the falls through every window was mesmerizing and the furnishings were comfortable and luxurious. We couldn't have asked for a better, relaxing place to come back to after a day of sightseeing and fun. Balpha was very kind and informative when we arrived and explained everything thoroughly. Cliff house is one of the most beautiful homes we've ever stayed in. The home is spotless and full of amenities. Balpha was very helpful when and if we needed anything at all. Great hiking trails near by. The trail head to hike to the bottom of the falls is less than a mile away.

Having stayed at a variety of rental properties in the Mentone area Cliff House is without doubt the very best place we have stayed.
The view of DeSoto Falls is simply wonderful! And being able to watch it and hear it from the screened in porch was simply a delight.
Balpha, our host, was friendly, engaging and welcoming.
In addition to the unbeatable view, Cliff House was beautifully and comfortably furnished, with state of the art kitchen appliances. The attention to detail was exceptional down to fresh flowers in many of the rooms.
The location is also great with several hiking trails to the top and the bottom of the waterfall within a short walk of the property.
To sum it all up: It was beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
We are already starting to plan our next visit!

The view to the falls was beautiful. My dream was finally realized. Check in was easy and owner was very friendly and helpful. Cabin was extra clean. Having bedrooms on opposite ends made it very private for each couple. Kitchen had everything you needed to be able to cook meals if you didn’t want to eat out. Really enjoyed back porch. Nice place to have a cup of coffee every morning. This is definitely a place that I want to return to. DeSoto Falls has always been one of my favorite places to visit. Just can’t enough of the beauty of the water and sounds, so relaxing.

I recommend this place to my friends. It’s a nice updated home with a wonderful fireplace. The fireplace is user friendly, you just flip a switch and it’s on. They have good directions on how to use everything in the house in a book and they give you a tour. It’s an easy drive to get to with a great view of Desoto Falls. We have the best sleep of our life here with the sound of the falls as well! Second time to stay here.
