Guesthouse Raku

What i liked the most about the hotel, was looking down outside the window and watching everyone walk by. Written by Emily, (10)

Perfect location, very nice appartement, very quite neighboorhood.

Lots of room for our family of five. Great location, quiet but close to so many great restaurants, and a short walk to the Nishiki market.

The apartment was decorated in a traditional Japanese way. There were tatami mats on the floor, a low table, futon beds, traditional doors, and decorations. The bathroom was very clean and there were things like toothbrushes and shaving kits for us. The area we stayed in was very quiet but still had some nice restaurants and bars around. The Kyoto CoOp was nearby for some very good fruit and vegetables. It was a short walk from a metro station and from one of the key Imperial Palaces in Kyoto. But it was a 15 minute commute to the old town and about a 10 minute walk to the main part of the city. There's upmarket places like a French bakery and chocolate cake shop in the area.

Overall I liked it, but it's NOT a hotel room. Guest are expected to wash the towels and to take out the garbage. Also, the check in process requires you to have a phone to do a QR code check in. The kitchen has a lot of things you need, but you couldn't cook because things like mixing bowls, serving platters, etc., are not available.
