Convenient location for an overnight stop during a long journey, close to some major roads but quiet and secluded by the river, surrounded by trees. My room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of parking. The attached restaurant/bar was useful for an evening drink and a good breakfast in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was told there was a night porter who could let me in after 10pm but this didn't seem necessary since the doors weren't locked by the time I went to bed.
The room, and the hotel in general, looked a bit tired but this kind of suits the "old mill" aesthetic and the reasonable price. The free WiFi was basically unusable, being unable to even load my Instagram feed, with no chance of streaming an entire episode of anything.

Really friendly and welcoming staff at reception and in the restaurant both at dinner and in the morning.
No extractor fan in bathroom.

Location and setting great, attractive hotel and bar / restaurant, staff friendly, good choice of drinks. Powerful (over bath) shower.
Room clean and comfortable, but dated and poorly lit. Not great value at over £100 per night midweek. Endless wait for basic food for one (refunded without asking when chased, twice) and really poor when it arrived. Didn’t eat there again for breakfast (x2) and dinner (x1) as a result. I’m not a complainer by nature and this place could be really great but my experience was disappointing.
