The Ultimo

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, particularly because of its convenient position in Chinatown. I had a Studio King room and the bed was big and very comfortable. Although we are located on a busy and bustling street, the rooms were quiet and comfortable. Location-wise, there are plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops nearby, with Haymarket, George Street and Pitt Street all within walking distance. The nearby tram stops made getting around the city easy and convenient, allowing us to hop on and off and reach various destinations without much hassle. The surrounding area has a great variety of dining and shopping options, so there was always something to explore close by. Overall, the hotel is a practical choice for travellers looking for easy access to food, shopping and public transport while staying close to the city’s main attractions.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The Italian receptionist was especially welcoming, and the receptionist in the morning was also lovely. I asked to change rooms and they made the whole process very easy and smooth. Great service!

No mattress protector.

Awesome location - near George St., Chinatown, darling Harbour, the university is awesome buildings, etc.

The room was rather small, and the bedsheets didn’t cover up the whole mattress. And a few more hooks in the room would’ve been nice.

Comfy bed and handy location

The noise - I was put in a room that had an adjoining room door right in front of the lift/staircase. So between the two doors in my room I could hear EVERYTHING. The neighbours talking, bashing their bathroom door open and closed, every single person coming and going from the level via the lift or stairs.... makes for an impossible sleep. Not to mention the housekeeping liked to smash everything into the walls, skirting boards etc every morning nice and early. There was no where comfortable to sit in the room - just the bed and 2 uncomfortable dining chairs. Not enough lamps to have light in the room without having the big overhead light on. Overall being in the room itself was noisy and uncomfortable. Wouldn't stay again.
