Tour de Nesle La Rochelle Vieux Port 3 etoiles

Location was great - staff and welcome and service were brilliant. Bed really comfy - view from room was the chefs kiss👍

Breakfast was good however there were a few grumbles about. More milk and top up the meats perhaps?

Lift door is really heavy. The big light in the bedroom.

Super location and easy to access ( we did not have a car). Very nice to step out into an almost fully pedestrianized area and it felt safe returning in the evening / night.

There was quite a bad smell in the bathroom, usually overnight. I feel bad mentioning this here as I forgot to say this at check out, I have told them on their own website. We fixed it by opening the windows and it cleared quickly, so I hope the hotel takes note and fixes this for other residents. I did not raise this during our stay as we cleared it quickly and we were so close to the port/water, that might have been a reason.

The staff were excellent. The room a good bit smaller than expected for the price. The Shower Room was tiny, although it functioned well. The biggest problem was street noise. The Hotel is in a great central location surrounded by bars & restaurants, but as a result there was noise constantly into the small hours. Friday & Saturday nights were unbearable with rowdy behaviour & shouting until 4.30am Friday & 5.30 am Saturday! Laying awake for hours on end is not the best Hotel scenario. Be aware. Obviously there is nothing the Hotel could do about the La Rochelle night life. But I feel we must report our experience.
