Beautiful traditional hotel with many Victorian features. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was extremely spacious with lovely decor in keeping with the traditional style of the hotel.
The bath had a handheld shower, and we would have preferred a full shower. However, our room was really beautiful so we didn't want to be swapped to another room.

Meals were a delight
Staff were excellent
As a superior room, not to have a shower cubicle or stand up shower over the bath was in my mind a negative.
Our room (19) also had the kitchen extractor flue adjacent and the noise is unacceptable, so another negative.

Location to town
Slightly tired decor and glory days gone
Beds springs beginning to come to surface of mattress
Shower flow poor
Toilet seat had a slightly sharp curve which cut into skin slightly
Cleaner in the morning abrupt about asking for things
Shampoo and shower gel very minimal
Stayed at better for less money with breakfast included
Room hot although they lent us a fan
No change of towels for 5 nights
Poor choice at breakfast
Continental breakfast was basically cereal and bit of fruit and toast
No meats /cheese etc
