We had a lovely stay at Macdonald Houstoun House and would definitely return.
We stayed in Room 15 in the Tower, a lovely four-poster room with plenty of character. The room was comfortable and made the stay feel a little more special. We also used the bar and really enjoyed it, although we didn’t eat in the restaurant on this occasion.
The location worked brilliantly for us. It was a great base for visiting Edinburgh, but we also spent time exploring the other side of the Forth, so it’s very well placed if you want to see more than just the city.
If I had to mention two small criticisms, the four-poster bed is actually only a standard double, which feels a little small for such a lovely room, and there could be more shelving or storage space for clothes.
Those are minor points, though. Overall, we had a really enjoyable and memorable stay. Lovely hotel, lots of character, great location and somewhere we would definitely stay again.

The beds were comfortable. The room was spacious. The bathroom was lovely. The bar was cozy.

The propery itself is big and nice and room was clean
The breakfast buffet should be unlimited specially the eggs and breads which are the main part of the buffet and there should be a fridge in the room as well and atleast water should be served in the room
