Macdonald Botley Park Hotel & Spa

We stayed as we were going on a cruise the day after. The hotel was a bit awkward to get to, purely because of road works. The staff were nice. The room was nice and clean.

We thought that the restaurant was a bit pricey at night, so we nipped out to the local store. I appreciate that it's a hotel but it was a bit dear. The breakfast room was so busy, in the morning, that it wasn't a pleasure. This is not the hotels fault as they kept seating people as best they could. I would think that most of the people there were like us, going away the next day. I ordered some gluten free toast and it took ages to come, I thought they had forgotten about me, but it came eventually.

Location was pleasant, staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was ample. Food was really good and service. A lovely place to stay for a couple of nights.

Noise between rooms and corridor. Even when other guess are trying to be quiet the doors slam and echo a lot. Not enough staff, a small amount of staff left them stretched especially the bar staff.

Loved the hotel in its self. Comfortable and welcoming. Staff on desk was very helpful. The room was clean and roomy. Breakfast was great and waitresses very helpful but could have a smile on their faces at times 😂. Spa staff were great. The swimming pool has a great vibe with the lighting too. The food in the sports bar was really nice but a bit pricey and £5 for hot chocolate is ridiculous. Overall a very nice stay and can’t wait to come back.

Food and drink very pricey as said £5 for hot chocolate is ridiculous. £18 for a pint and large glass of wine is quite expensive also.the continental breakfast option could have more to offer. Could be more options how you want your eggs cooked also lacking vegetarian options for cooked breakfast.room service is expensive £20 for a sandwich including tray charge.

Nice location, room was.good size.

Room wasn't cleaned properly, found someone's false nail on bathroom floor, toothpicks on floor under table and coffee stains on wall. Pool looked dirty with broken filter covers left lying on floor, red and white ticker tape to close part of the pool was not a great look. Spider webs in sports bar and restaurant, they have obviously been there weeks. Wanted to sit outside but all tables were covered in ants.
