Friendly efficient staff.

A little tired and in need of updating away from reception and public areas

All facilities were excellent. The bar, restaurant and reception staff were exceptionally polite, friendly, helpful & accommodating. All food and drinks were excellent.

Our room was a bit small but we may have just made a mistake with the type of room we booked.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Shout out to Ahmed, Oscar, Sian and Tegan. Bar service quick. Great location. Comfy beds. Lovely toiletries. Good choice for breakfast. Reception is like walking into a 1920s vibe...feels really special. Even the cleaners were chatty and friendly. Everyone makes you feel welcome. Really dog friendly too.

Check out took a long time and the receptionist took a break while long queue so someone covered. Some areas a little tired but doesn't distract.

Location

It’s not ‘Grand’ maybe in its hey day, but the property seriously needs to be refurbed. The main room had been updated but the bathroom was the 90’s tiles and the corridors were neon - pink and turquoise - some real colour clashes. Reception was understaffed - but instead of checking people in when arrive - made people wait until 3pm when then the queue was out the door, same as checkout…. I just posted my keys and will now wait for the deposit to be returned - on the deposit they don’t accept TESCO Mastercard? And it wasn’t just me, there was another person checking in who only had one credit card which was TESCO, so they had to pay by debit - I’ve never heard or experienced that before! It was like an inconvenience to talk to people …. That’s said the night porter was amazing and very friendly.
