The reception staff were exceptionally lovely and made me feel very welcome. I was also given a room with a sea view which was a nice surprise! Very good location just back from the promenade with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, although there was no noise disturbance. The hotel is nicely decorated and I appreciated the tea/coffee/biscuits provided in my room.
The room could do with a little freshening up as there were a few marks and stains.

The room was clean, bed was comfortable, location was excellent and view was very good. The food in the 1865 restaurant was fabulous, very good indeed. Steak and fish perfectly cooked. The Queens cocktail worth trying.
The room was far too warm with no aircon and window would not open enough to cool down. Tiny bathroom, far too small. Toilet rolls behind toilet to save space. Steps at front of hotel difficult to navigate with suitcase. Reception area staff walled in behind perpex like a bank. Very odd. All in all.....overpriced.
