We went to Portsmouth to visit the historic dockyard and this hotel was only a 5 minute walk away. It also had a car park and was close to several restaurants. The breakfast was freshly cooked and staff very friendly.
The bed had a wooden frame which stuck out. There wasn’t a lot of room to walk round the bed so kept banging my leg on the wooden frame.

We made a last-minute booking for a small double room after our ferry was cancelled, and had low expectations. In fact the room was spacious, with a great view to the front. The car park was good, as was the closeness to the Gunwharf Quay restaurants, but the best aspect was the friendly staff who were happy to provide a very good continental breakfast at 6am.
The decor in the room was rather dark and a little worn, but it was not a problem.

Good location right across the street from bus depot and train. Also from the water. Lots of pubs near by. Easy walk to big mall and Portsmouth Naval Heritage.
Breakfast was good. Staff was kind and friendly.

We chose this hotel for a one-night stay, for the convenience of being opposite the station as my husband was arriving by train, although I drove and I made use of the car park at the rear, which was handy. There is also a handy taxi rank opposite., and the location is a 5-minute walk from Gunwharf Quays shopping, the Spinnaker Tower and attractions in the Dockyard. The breakfast was freshly cooked - not a given in many hotels!
The room was clean and reasonably comfortable, although I would describe the overall decor as a little tired and the furniture and furnishings were actually quite basic. I'm afraid I would not describe this as a boutique hotel in the sense of being luxurious. Also....we did discover that the walls were...ahem... rather thin!
