The hotel & grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The value for money is pretty good, massages are very good and not too overpriced, food is good quality. Most of the staff are very kind and helpful.

Certain things have gotten worse since last year. The tea and coffe quality at breakfast is terrible (they serve the cheapest pickwick teabags, for example) and last year they still had some better quality tea avaiable behind the bar if you asked, but they no longer provide this. The selection of food is a bit slim - the fruit selection at breakfast is worse than at dinner even though more people eat fruit for breakfast, the only vegetables at breakfast are cucumbers and tomatos and some lettuce. No fresh eggs, only pre-made eggs. For a five star hotel I would expect better. Other issues such as the a la carte restautant being permanently shut despite being advertised on the website, or the restaurant staff having a problem when I brought bottled water from my room (water provided by the hotel) to lunch, instead forcing me to pay an insane 4 euros per bottle of water from the restaurant. The biggest issue though was that they were completely unprepared for rain at the restaurant. They had nowhere to seat half the guests as the indoors is small, and told us to come back at 8:30 to have dinner, which is far too late if you're used to eating at 7pm. Suggestions like taking a plate of food to our room were denied, the staff was rude about it, and only after talking to the manager they agreed to do this. There are no other food options in the hotel. Constant annoyances like this add up and honestly make things quite unpleasant, and we will not be returning here next year, despite the other good things. There were also jellyfish on the beach with painful stings, which is unrelated to my rating of the hotel, but people should be aware of this possibility when considering booking in september.

The resort is in a nice location with direct private beach access, spread out over a reasonable size area. The two pool areas are well maintained and offer a teally luxurious setting.

The weather was quite windy during our stay in July. This seems to be quite normal and often. However, the hotel almost battened down the hatches (which was unnecessary) which gave a feel of being out of season. All the chair pads and scatter cushions were removed so you couldn’t really sit anywhere. All the parasols were closed up which meant there was reduced shade. The hotel did not put anything in place to cope with the weather that was apparently a regular occurrence. Wouldn’t be difficult to fasten in the cushions as opposed to leave bare spring seats. The outdoor cinema played twice in a 7 day stay because of wind - again no other provision in place. Pool entertainment was also reduced. A real shame that we felt we had paid high season price but got a low season treatment. I think the hotel need to consider how they deal with the wind more effectively. Everyone still sunbathes - it’s still hot and sunny!!
