DoubleTree by Hilton Coventry Building Society Arena

A unique hotel with an amazing location We were really impressed by the hotel’s unique location inside the stadium. I have honestly never stayed anywhere quite like this before — it makes the whole experience really special. Although our room did not have the famous stadium view, the reception staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to show us one of the rooms with the view. We were able to see it for ourselves and the view was absolutely fantastic. The receptionist also explained a few details about what it is like to stay in one of these rooms. I think this would be a wonderful experience or even a great gift for a husband or partner who is a football fan — being able to watch the stadium directly from your own room is something really special. Our room was also very spacious and comfortable, with two double beds and very comfortable mattresses. We really enjoyed the space and overall comfort of the room. Another nice little detail was the option to borrow umbrellas from the hotel, which I have never come across before in a hotel. There were also shops very close by, so it was easy to take a short walk and get anything we needed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The unique stadium location, spacious room and especially the lovely and helpful reception staff made a very positive impression on us. We would happily stay here again.

A few small things could be improved There honestly wasn’t much we disliked about our stay. If I had to mention one thing, it would be the attention to detail when it came to cleaning. I work in hotel housekeeping myself, so I know how demanding this job is and how difficult it can be to keep everything perfect. Perhaps because of this, I naturally tend to notice small details when staying in hotels. The carpet in our room could have been vacuumed a little more thoroughly — we found a couple of contact lenses and there was a small KitKat wrapper under the bed. The bathroom was also generally fine, but the shower could have been cleaner, especially in the corners where there was some build-up of dark residue. I don’t think this was a major issue at all, and overall the room was perfectly fine. I just feel that a little more attention to these small details and a final check could make the cleanliness even better. Apart from that, everything was absolutely fine and we had a very enjoyable stay.

THE ROOM WAS WELL KEPT, SPACIOUS AND ORGANIZED. THE BATHROOM WAS EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD AND AIRY. THE PARKING WAS THE ONLY ISSUE AS IT WAS A BIT AWAY FROM THE MAIN BUILDING.

AS MENTIONED, THE PARKING COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER.

Decent value, friendly enough staff

Room was an age from the lift, one lift didn't work. Shower gel empty (as was lotion) .... See housekeeping going around, guess they don't check that often. Small creakybath with waterfall head. Over 6ft and difficult to get under it.
