Excellent location for exploring Scarborough, close to Victorian funicular railway to take you to and from the beach, and a stone's throw from the main shopping area. Excellent breakfast. Would stay again if in Scarborough.
Ear plugs are provided to fend off the noise of the seagulls, but we only found them noisy during the day - no problem getting to sleep at night.

The landlady was very nice. We got a room upgrade on arrival which was a lovely surprise.

Good service thoughtful staff, location ideal. Quiet late evening.
Old style lift doors mum couldn't pull them shut. I managed fine but others may struggle.

Friendly lady changing beds/cleaning rooms
Customers rowing through the night I did tell the man on the desk
he said he had not heard the rows (goodness knows how he did n't) it went on through
the Saturday night he barely apologised when I mentioned it the next morning not really interested
Also plumbing/sewerage problem foul smelling bathroom

Location was great
Breakfast not included in price had to pay extra, when at Breakfast waitresses hovering about all the time was uncomfortable. Bedding smelt fusty.

Great location comfortable bed worth paying extra for room on the front .
The gentleman on reception . Although generally helpful did not offer to help me with our bags so I struggled up and down stairs while my husband went to park the car .

how close it was to everything
it wasn’t really a sea view can’t charge people for that, and the duvet on the bed was miles too heavy

Breakfast was lovely. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Rooms spotless. Bed comfy. A pleasant day, would return.

Bed was comfy, in great location and parking was great straight outside.
Room is so small, no space at all to move.

Breakfast great, property clean and good location.
Bed although queen size was very hard and uncomfortable. Windows draughty enough to move very heavy curtains which made room in winter very cold. Bathroom was so cold that we had to put towels on tiled floor so that we cold walk on them.

Excellent service from staff and polite service from management the cleanliness of the hotel well deserved a 4 xxxx recommendation
Noise from the seagulls at the grand hotel and the filth and germs thay cause in particular as we are in covid coronavirus pandemic bird flue is secondary to the germs the seagulls droppings with is never cleaned
