Phoenix Court Hotel

Very spacious room with huge bay window providing gorgeous views out to sea. Small but clean and tidy bathroom with modernised facilities and a strong, hot shower. Near Scarborough Castle and the churchyard with Anne Bronte's grave, and an easy downhill walk to the city centre or the Scarborough Beach area on the other side of the headland (though, of course, uphill coming back). Friendly staff and a warm welcome on arrival. And do find time for at least one drink at the cosy and comfortable Scarborough Arms pub around the corner on Castle Street!

No complaints, really. The guesthouse occupies an end unit in a series of residential and holiday properties near the top of the north cliff, so a little bit away from Scarborough's nightlife. That was a plus for me, but if you're into eating / drinking / socialising in the more entertainment-focused beach area, be prepared for a steep climb up to your bed!

Didn't have breakfast, but looked good!! The location for our requirements is very good.

All was excellent.

Location was really good and on site parking was excellent. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Room was on the top floor up a lot of stairs so wasn't exactly easy coming and going. Only one window opened partially and the other was not openable at all. Shower was low pressure and the shower hose and head were both dirty and black with mould which didn't look great. No shower gel in the room and no lampshade on the main room light, which just looked uncared for. We asked for toilet rolls to be left outside our room but when we got back there were none, so we had to go out and buy some. Not what you'd expect for a hotel with such a high rating.
