Nice living room

We would have loved to stay in one of the independent chalets with a view on the mountains. Our room was devoid of charm and had zero view. Eating in was expensive.

Super place! Lovely warm welcome from the staff, who cooked us a fabulous dinner. Wonderful views, with peace and quiet all around. We soaked in the hot tub, and spent time in the comfortable guest lounge. There was even a resident cat. A real home from home.

Cottage con bella vista su campagna circostante e con un bel maneggio. Staff super gentile e accogliente, consiglio la cena che va prenotata per tempo, davvero molto buona.

Bagno pessimo, non esiste un piatto doccia con conseguente allagamento bagno dopo la doccia. È presente un tira acqua per eliminare l’acqua in eccesso, ma non è funzionale. Anche la pulizia da rivedere. Rapporto qualità-prezzo non soddisfacente.

Rooms were specious and well equiped. Bangalows are nicely located on the slope of hill with nice view and horses wondering around.

We loved the restaurant/lounge- and the managers! Very kind!

We would have wished for better showers, a hot Hot Tub and light in the lounge after 10 pm. I think it’s better to choose one of the cabins instead of a double room.

parking is bit far from the room and the road is not paved. it was hard to carry bags.

Adorable cabin with amazing views and great privacy. The staff was very friendly checking in and answered all my questions in a timely manner. We really enjoyed our stay here and it was a great way to recharge and relax after driving around the Golden Circle all day!

Property is in beatiful and carm area. Room was clean and the staff was kind. Everything was perfect for staying. :)

The hot pot was the hottest in my life. 5 minutes inside, and you’re not cold for like 15 minutes outside, with but a wet swimming suit on! we were there alone which was extra cool. breakfast (8-10am) was very nice too, great variety and everything is really tasty. especially the bread, could have eaten it as a meal. and the herring! spacious rooms, quite simple but rather convenient. THANK YOU FOR THE BATHROBES!

no cooking facilities (which we were aware of), no eating options around and if you’re late for dinner you are (theoretically) not allowed to eat in the room or anywhere else on premises. just something to bear in mind in case your trip takes longer than expected.

The grounds are lovely, the cottage was small but comfortable for our needs, and the staff was super nice. The dinner and breakfast were great — felt like a home cooked meal. Lovely views from every window and very quiet at night.

The shower needs some maintenance. Also, we thought the cottage was a one bedroom but was more of a studio with beds, couch, table and kitchenette in the same room.

The price for meals is expensive even for Islandic standards.

Everything! From the amazing views to the exceptionally delicious breakfast - we were very happy with our stay. We were even able to view the northern lights. The location was very peaceful yet convenient on our travels. Unfortunately, we didn't get to take advantage of the hot tub.

Would have liked to have been able to interact with the horses - but it was nice to have them all around.

Very warm cosy and clean cottages. Probably great for watching northern lights if weather conditions were favourable. Liked the coffee machine.

Breakfast was very good. We rented a cottage and cooked a lot. aakitchen was well equipped. Although it was very windy the cottage was warm and cosy. WLAN at the main building was good.

We loved the cottage, it is an advice to emprove to "10 points": We missed to have enough light to read when sitting at the sofa or chair. No WLAN in the cottage. The way to the cottage was unlighted, very dark and steep and (in winter) slippery because of wet gras.

Cabin was clean and comfortable.

Shower needed maintenance. Hot tub cold and unusable, which was really disappointing as it's why we chose this accomodation. Also you have to drive to the hot tub and bar area from your cabin. The roads around camp were icy and dangerous, staff unconcerned/unsympathetic about this. We left after 1 night due to safety concerns about the roads; staff uncompromising about even a part-refund. The roads should be looked after better (ploughed/salted) around camp because it's all hills, no regard for safety, little guidance/information given. It's one of those places that can afford to be bad because it relys on the natural surroundings, but take those things away because of bad weather, and the actual reality of the camp is pretty bad.

Hella is a very quiet and serene town, and this hotel is located just outside of the main center of it, so it’s even more peaceful and tranquil. The living room/eating area is spacious and filled with books, art and comfortable couches. There’s a coffee machine that makes pretty good cappuccinos (coming from an American so take with a grain of salt if you’re used to something different), you can serve yourself and watch the sunrise through the huge windows! There’s a panoramic view, which was lovely. Our room was comfortable, quiet and spacious as well. We had absolutely everything we needed and were very satisfied. The entire guesthouse is heated by geothermal water, which is both energy efficient and super warm! There’s a small dial in the room where you can adjust it to your comfort level. Definitely take advantage of the breakfast and the dinner- all of the food is fresh, tasty and prepared with care. The dinners have a homemade feel to them (because they are :D), and for the price you get soup, entree and dessert. It is a lovely spread to come back to after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. If you’re coming in winter. be prepared for snow and ice. The staff here were extremely helpful with getting our car unstuck and making sure we were safe before beginning our stay. Can’t recommend this place enough! Oh, and we didn’t get to try it but there is horseback riding! If you’re lucky you can catch a peek at the beautiful Icelandic horses as they graze below at the base of the hill on which the hotel sits. The next time we come to Iceland, we will definitely book a stay here- it’s a special place!

There aren’t many food options in town (in Hella), and there aren’t any food storage options in the room, but luckily the food served onsite was fantastic and filling! Definitely plan to eat out or join the dinner onsite.
