Ayung Resort Ubud

This place is so lovely, it nestles perfectly into the surrounding jungle, is peaceful and feels almost colonial, the perfect place to wind down and relax. The staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and they work tirelessly to accommodate your every need. The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant serves dishes of a high quality which are beautifully presented, the afternoon tea is also very good, Adriani and the team look after the guests very well. The hotel offer excursions which are really flexible, you can book a half or whole day and basically choose what you want to do, we did a half day and included a trip to the elephant sanctuary which was great and our driver Yogi was brilliant, taking time during the drive to talk to us about the local area and the culture. The Spa looks lovely, we did not have time to visit as we were only there for three days but will definitely return, so maybe next time……

Some parts of the resort look a little tired, but in essence this is what makes it sit so comfortably into its surroundings, there was some redecoration going on, but this in no way detracted from our stay.

Setting was spectacular. Staff were very helpful. Our bungalow was vast and very well appointed - the private pool overlooking the jungle was wonderful.
