The Elizabeth

From the moment we booked the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We had parking for two days as that was all that was available on booking but we received an email informing us that we had been upped for all of our stay. The room was very clean and welcoming, the staff cleaning the room also were polite and helpful. The staff in the restaurant were above and beyond helpful, friendly and clean ( which is important to the older members of our party) nothing was too much trouble and they remembered us from day to day.

there was nothing in this hotel that we disliked. the rooms and communal areas were clean and very fresh looking and staff were attentive, helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was excellent, limited evening menu however many restaurants and bars local. Rooms clean and staff excellent

limited evening menu as had it been raining we would have had to walk

The location. The parking. The shared areas.

The breakfast was only OK. The shower in the bedroom was cold. The bar wasn't always available. No drinking water in the rooms and no shampoo or conditioner. Only instant decaf coffee.

Brilliant breakfast and location was unrivalled. Great to also have a parking space saved for us. The staff were also really friendly and lovely to have biscuits and hot choc in the room!

Our room (11) was SO hot. My mum was in 14 and hers was perfect. Our radiators were off, window open and blind shut and it was still sweaty in there. The shower was TINY. Hard to actually shower/wash your legs/hair without touching the door or walls. There was a gross stain on the curtain lining that looked like sick. There was a brown stain on the blue rug that was on the bed, I can't imagine it has ever been washed, so made the room instantly feels dirty. The bathroom sink didn't drain properly. The walls near the light switches have dirty marks around them (where hand dirt is) Dust on skirting boards, back of door in bathroom. Shared bathroom by the restaurant felt dirty - felt weird to have a towel in there, not hygienic.
