Very clean, very comfortable, friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
I couldn't park at the hotel and had to pay for overnight parking. It was a busy weekend in Sidmouth but I was disappointed that parking was not available. It had been on my previous visit.

Location brilliant. The state rooms were spacious and comfortable.
The bedroom on the small side, but perfectly adequate. The bathroom however was VERY small, and the wash basin almost impossible for someone who wet shaves daily! The maitre d’ was brusque to the point of rudeness. (Other members of staff were delightful and helpful.)

All staff were friendly and offered a very good level of customer service. Breakfasts were excellent and the sea-facing dining room, lounge and outside patio were very pleasant places to be. The hotel is a good mixture of the traditional and the modern in its style and décor. There was no space in the hotel car park so I went to a nearby public car park initially and the following day was able to move to a space on the road in front of the hotel.
I was expecting a rear facing room but the room allocated was a little unusual in that the windows were frosted and couldn't really be opened very far, so I felt a little closed in. However I got used to it and was pleased I had been upgraded from a single to a double bed, and on the whole I was quite comfortable.
