The Malthouse

The welcome was perfect, my room really good, nice and clean and spacious. Breakfast was amazing, freshly cooked and of the best quality. I had dinner and that was very good and tasty. The staff are so friendly and happy to help.

I was attending a friends party at the venue so ideal location

When I arrived the manager told me there was a band on in the evening and my room was above the room and was it ok. I said yes, as they only had had few rooms and wasn’t sure where else they would be able to put me, and usually when they warn you it’s really not that bad. However when I went to my room in the evening it was like I was in the room with the band, no sound proofing, the floor was vibrating and the doors rattling due to how loud it was. I expected a little noise given it was a pub, but that was extreme. I feel the management should inform guests prior to their stay about the lack of sound proofing, especially if they have a band on. If I had of been told I wouldn’t booked a room elsewhere. If the manager had of been on duty when I left I would’ve said something but others weee having breakfast and I didn’t want to make a fuss by asking to see him.
