The Chess Hotel

Location and kindness of the staff

The entrance ( the streeet ) smelled like pee on the street

6 night stay. I felt safe. Location was excellent--within easy walking distance from Opera and Chausee d'Antin Metro stops. Nearby Burger King and food stall on Helder, opposite Burger King, provided excellent, low priced chef burger and healthy salads. Hotel reception staff were friendly, spoke English, and eager to help. Beds was comfortable and firm. Central A/C worked. Housekeeping was good although floor was not always swept. I did not prepay for breakfasts but it apparently was comp'ed the one day that I did eat at the buffet--perhaps to compensate for the lack of a room with twin beds the first night (which the hotel had confirmed would be available via email weeks earlier).

I was disappointed that no manager personally apologized for not having a room with twin beds on the first night or offer to provide one or more complementary breakfasts in advance. The coffee machine in the room was tempermental.

Wonderful stay at The Chess Hotel Paris We had a wonderful stay at The Chess Hotel in Paris and can highly recommend it! We originally booked a standard room, but as we were celebrating our anniversary, the hotel surprised us with a beautiful suite at no extra cost. This was such a thoughtful and generous gesture and truly made our stay even more special and memorable. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our anniversary so wonderful! The location is absolutely perfect. The hotel is within easy walking distance of many of Paris’s highlights, including the Opéra, Galeries Lafayette, Place Vendôme and the Louvre. It was incredibly convenient for exploring the city and enjoying everything Paris has to offer. The hotel itself is stylish, elegant and very comfortable, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Thank you to the entire team at The Chess Hotel for such a fantastic experience and for making our anniversary so special. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris! 🇫🇷❤️
