Ushguli Panorama Guest House

Spectacularly located in the face of Shkhara, Georgia’s highest summit, the recently built guesthouse offers comfortable rooms and a small retail market. Eka is a very friendly, hospitable and helpful landlady who speaks English, serves delicious Georgian food, organizes taxi rides, etc. Special feature: the guesthouse is also open in winter!

The name "Panorama" is absolutely true. A great overview on Ushguli, the valey, the mountain and the monestry. We had a fantastic typical georgian candlelight dinner, the electicity broke down in Ushguli due to a generator change. The breakfast was also great, as well as the atmosphere and the friendly wellcome. The rooms are quite tiny. We were there in October and the temperature in the room was ok for me. I wonder, how it is in winter, but rarely tourists will reach Ushguli in winter due to the road conditions. There was a electric heater in the room, but not working during our visit. You should adapt your expectations to the fact, that this place is on the very end of the world! Ushguli is awesome. You should hike through the valey to the glacier!

There were wonderful views from some rooms. The family were lovely.

The bed creaked and groaned so much whenever we moved that it was hard to sleep. We could hear everyone else walking to their rooms and people in the restaurant beneath us. The sheets were too small for the bed so they didn't stay underneath us. We booked for 4 nights but left after 2 nights.
