Baitong Hotel & Resort Phnom Penh

Another great stay at Baitong Hotel & Resort Phnom Penh, and once again everything was at a very high level. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and very well maintained. I would especially like to highlight the reception staff. They were extremely friendly, professional, helpful, and always willing to assist with anything I needed. Their warm and welcoming attitude really makes a difference and creates a very pleasant experience from the moment you arrive. This was another excellent stay, and I will definitely be happy to come back again.

Great location, feels like a resort but right in the city center. The design and greenery are amazing. All the staff were helpful and attentive.

Breakfast was pretty average and felt chaotic compared to the atmosphere of the rest of the hotel. The bathroom in the room needed repair/updating (mildew/gross tile)

The hotel is conveniently located, the interior is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the pools and hotel areas are well maintained. The hotel is lush and the open air concept allows for a nice breeze and freish air in the corridors. The staff is friendly when you can find them. Breakfast is decent, and one of the better ones I have had at a hotel. Hotel buffets will never win culinary awards but the food is fresh, well-prepared, and the options are plentiful. The coffee is not the worst but pretty dreadful. There is so much good coffee in Phnom Penh, I just went to the street.

Front door staff look like thugs, with scowls and mostly unhelpful, one was nice, the others are smoking, talking or on their phones. Even though the hotel says no pets, there were dogs being walked by the pool and through the hallways, security was smoking by the pool in the morning, the beds are short, defintely not a King Size. The bathroom has glass around the top but the mirror, which lights up, has a big blue light that stays on even at night which also lights up the bedroom decreasing sleep quality. The room was a bit humid and had a strange smell. It felt a bit worn and in need of some maintenence and care. I couldn't figure out if it was a bad room fragrance but it smelled like spoiled milk. The front desk staff and the restraunt staff were fantastic and attentive but other than that non-existent. We went to the pool around 9am and all of the towels and lounge chair pads were still stacked, covered, and put away. The guy came around 10am but only put a couple of cushions out and disappeared. The lush garden pool is shaded and ice cold so not enjoyable in rainy season weather.

Beautiful and stylish hotel with very atmospheric rooms and some genuinely unique touches. The Samsung AirDresser and air purifier in the room were fantastic, especially while travelling. I also really liked the juice bar, steam room and the small service touches when arriving at the hotel. Breakfast had a good mix of Asian and Western options, including made-to-order dishes. A special mention to Kosal at breakfast, who was incredibly attentive, remembered my name, regularly checked whether everything was okay and always made time for a little conversation. She really stood out and made the stay more personal.

English proficiency among the staff was quite inconsistent. At times, even relatively simple requests or modifications became frustratingly difficult to communicate, which I would expect to be better at a hotel in this price category. I also upgraded specifically for a room advertised with a jacuzzi and steam room. While the steam room was great, the “jacuzzi” was essentially a cold bath with relatively weak water jets and no temperature control, which I found misleading. To their credit, after some discussion the hotel did make an effort to compensate through other services. The breakfast pancakes and waffles were also extremely dry and did not taste fresh.
