Palácio das Especiarias

Absolutely stunning place to stay. You really feel like you are in a palace. And the breakfast is one of the best in the world that we have had. Being serenaded by beautiful piano and violin in a historical room with a fresh and amazing buffet breakfast is just the best.

Being really old the drainage in bathroom could do with some attention.

Excellent staff, location and perks (welcome drinks, tour of the hotel, etc)

Nothing really.

This was our second time staying here, and we absolutely love the accommodation. The place is beautiful, comfortable, and overall we’ve had great experiences here, which is why we chose to come back.

The only disappointment was the breakfast situation. We had an early flight, so we spoke to reception the day before and were told not to worry, as a takeaway breakfast would be prepared and ready for us in the morning. Unfortunately, when we went to check out, there was no one at reception and no takeaway breakfast had been provided. We were relying on what we had been told, especially as we were leaving early for the airport. What made the situation more disappointing was the response we later received from Patricia by email. We didn’t feel the response was very understanding or friendly, especially considering we were simply explaining that a service promised to us by reception had not been provided.

Location , decor

The floor was creaky in the second room and the ac didn’t work great in the first and there were ants -
