Friendly Hills Bairro Alto

The location was absolutely fantastic. Super walkable and close to everything. Bedrooms were a great size and super bright and clean. The contactless check in was super easy. Bathrooms were clean.

The cleaner on the last day only (October 19th morning) was different than the usual woman. She woke us up in the morning as she was talking super loud on her phone while she was cleaning directly outside of our bedroom. I understand sometimes cleaning makes noise, but there’s no reason for her to be yelling on the phone waking us up when we’re trying to sleep and while she’s working. Since we were there for 5 days(4 nights), I would have loved to have a fresh towel at least once rather than having to use the same one for the whole time. The walls are extremely thin so we heard every little creak and voice in the hotel as well as outside as there’re a few bars directly outside. Definitely needed to bring earplugs. It would be an amazing addition to include 2 towels per person as well as a little pack of earplugs. Little things like that go a long way. There’s no elevator and lots of stairs as we were on the third floor so definitely recommend packing light!

It's very close to the city center and clean, comfortable beds. The toilet is common but it's not getting crowded and you don't feel so much the presence of the others.

It's very loud outside and if the window is in the street, you will have noise until morning. It can be a problem for light sleepers. Also Sometimes it took a long time to wait for hot water and it was frustrating.

Great location and beds/pillows were cozy. Cynthia was helpful and kind. Coffee machine makes a good coffee. Lots of local restaurants and tapas wine bars nearby.

The sink in the kitchen was broken and the workers were very noisy...not Friendly Hills fault.

4th floor was like a furnace my room didn’t cool down until 1am every night
