My wife and I had a wonderful stay in this historic unique property in Matera. We stayed in the Cavelliere Suite which had the wow factor plus a great view of the Sassi from the balcony. We also had full access to the roof top terrace which had an even better view especially in the sunset. Couldn’t ask for a better stay.
The property owner/manager Alina was also fantastic who made us feel like it was our home for the night! Especially as we were the only guests in the entire building that day! Nothing was too much trouble, and even left us breakfast outside the room door in the morning. We really wish we had stayed longer, so next time we certainly will!
Nb: Make sure you follow the pre arrival advice/instructions or you will not find the entrance as it’s tucked well away from the main square and street. Also travel light as there are plenty of steps and then stairs to negotiate.

I like everything about this property. The room was big and beautifully decorated.
The location was excellent. Very good breakfast. The staff was very nice and gave us a lot info regarding the town Matera. She pend a lot of time with us. We really appreciated that!

Loved our stay here. The room was lovely, staff were very helpful and told us the history of the city and the building, breakfast was great, and the view from the terrace was phenomenal! Matera is a wonderful place.

Perfect Location, Perfect Host, Most comfortable bed & linen and the most beautiful breakfast delivered daily with everything you could want, delicious warm pastries, savoury breads, yogurts, juice and fresh figs from the courtyard tree. Matera is the most beautiful place on Earth. We will be back. Thankyou x

This hotel is a real gem, and if you can afford to stay here please do not hesitate. I was looking for something special and memorable for my birthday. I looked at many hotels, but the reviews were continuously excellent here. My only concern was the fact I had the last room, which was the smallest room. Please don't let that put you off. The room is bigger than I was expecting. It has the best shower we have had in a long time on our travels. The staff and services are second to none. The views from the hotels is breathtaking. Luciana the receptionist is a credit to the property. Our Manager/Owner was in constant contact via WhatsApp to ensure we were happy and if we needed any further assistance . We decided not to have breakfast the second morning as we are not use to eating heavy carbs so early. The owner message asked if we would like something else and provided us with a pleasant and suitable option.
Excellent stay and a very happy birthday treat.
I would prefer some slippers in the room due to the tile floors, and a little suggestion for a box of tissues in the room.

Fantastic from start to finish - our host greeted us on arrival and showed us all the features (there are many) of the property. Breakfast was waiting in the morning and the views from the deck are amazing, highly recommended!

It was a wonderful experience with a unique experience +Alina is a wonderful host. Sadly we could only stay for one night but we would definitely recommend it!

Located at the center of ancient Matera, this wonderful B&B will provide the ultimate way to experience the old city with its historical sites, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. This luxurious room is for couples who want to spoil themselves. Alina the property owner is lovely and will take care of anything you need and ask.

Location is amazing. We stayed in the room with a balcony and we didn’t regret it. Highly recommend staying here. Breakfast was at a neighbouring bar/cafe, and we appreciated the service that they provided.

the place is very beautiful and cosy
there is a bar, right in front of the hotel, which is open until 3am. this makes sleeping with windows open impossible

There is no parking at property but believe me, when you are in such a property, you don’t care for parking any more :) (p.s. there are few parkings 5 min walk from property)

Stunning property in a great location. The room was lovely and the host was lovely and accommodating but the best thing about the property was the incredible views from the room and rooftop terrace. Would definitely recommend to others

Room is warm, clean, modern and cozy. One of the windows has a spectacular view on Sassi you can enjoy. It’s located in the last Iuso’s Tower with a private Terrace on the roof with an amazing view on Matera Sasso Barisano. The location is amazing, close to Cattedrale María Santissima. A private garden with a sight on Via Duomo is very nice, you can relax away from the hussle if you want.

I travel often for work, and I have to say Alina’s rooms are in my top 10. Beautiful interior design - with first class materials and execution. Very stylish and tasteful. The roof top terrace is stunning. Large and as high up as you can be in Matera it has a view to die for (the pun is intended - James Bond’s motorcycle jump from No Time to Die is about 150 meters away at Piazza Duomo). The tower was inhabited by the Knights of the order of St John for two centuries, and it even has its own small garden within the walls. You have to park a little outside the old town and walk in - but it’s worth it, it really is.

Alina and Rocco were very welcoming, they gave us many advices about the city and what to do in Matera. The location is in an ideal position in the heart of Matera so that we could reach everything by feet. The room was big, clean and comfortable with a great view to the Sassi of Matera, a great stay in the overall! The terrace was amazing and the breakfast they offer was great too!

This place has the absolute best view of the Sassi as the building is situated quite high. We loved hanging out at terrace and our balcony as you get the place all to yourself!
There is also a jacuzzi and a fancy shower which made the stay even more perfect - felt like we were at a day spa!
You will not be disappointed :)

Beautiful place right inside an old city tower just in the middle of everything. Small but perfectly designed room with full equipment. Very nice host and a warm welcome! You can truly tell that a lot of dedication is put into this place. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Antica Torre di luso :)
