Ritz Apart Hotel

This is an excellent hotel in the lovely area of Sopochachi. We were upgraded to a spacious suite with a large comfortable bed and big lounge area. It was the perfect haven in a busy city like La Paz. We were close to a Teleférico station and also some excellent cafes and restaurants.

Location

This is definitely not a 5-star hotel—at best, it deserves 3.5 stars. The room lacked basic amenities you would expect from a true luxury hotel: no robe, no slippers, and no high-quality toiletries. Instead, they provided a tiny soap bar and low-grade shampoo that felt more appropriate for a budget motel. The small fridge in the room was extremely noisy and made it hard to sleep. The carpet was old, dusty, and had an unpleasant odor. The elevators were very small, and the breakfast area felt outdated and poorly maintained. Overall, it’s an aging property that may have been a 5-star hotel decades ago, but today it’s clearly a solid 3-star. The staff was friendly and generally helpful, but not at the level expected from a true 5-star experience. They were accommodating when arranging airport taxis and clearly explained the fares in advance, which I appreciated. However, they were inconsistent with important details like forgetting wake-up calls.
