This hotel has an outstanding restaurant. The menu, the wine list, the decor and the ambience are all excellent. The staff are first class and it is exceptional value for money. This was my third visit and although it is under different management since my last visit in 2023, which I rated highly then, it has if anything gone up hill!
The bedrooms are dated and in need of a refurb but everything works!

Staff always friendly.
Good choice for breakfast.
We were given a larger room (would have slept 3) so was nice to have the extra space.
The bathroom shelf was on a slope.
The shower bracket needs fixing.

Basic but comfortable accomodation, good-sized room and bathroom. Very nice continental breakfast.
Good TV reception.

Central location in the town. Room was clean.
Only street car parking available, no air conditioning in the room. The room is tired and needs refurbishment- especially the bathroom with flaking paint on the walls and a 1970s style shower over the bath that is only 4 feet from the floor!!
Tea and coffee in the room but only one small sachet of uht milk for the two of us - poor attention to detail.

"The room was very comfortable and a good size (it was for 3), but the highlight of our stop here - the third time - was the meal in the evening. It was gastronomy at its best. Absolutely brilliantly..."
