Hotel Alexander

The accomodation I had originally booked had to cancel on the day of my arrival. Hotel Alexander was one of the few that still had a room I could book at all. I was super happy about that, especially since the price had been reduced. The room itself was rather small but cozy, the bathroom was nice and the bed was good to sleep in. Next to the bed, there was a window, which I enjoyed, I let in fresh air all the time! I arrived late that day, when the reception was already closed, but there was a key safe that allowed me to get the key to my room. There was also no curfew so I could use the room key to enter whenever I needed. perfect. In the courtyard of the hotel (accesible by elevator) there was even a fridge where you could get drinks 24/7 and have them put on your hotel bill! The only (very small) issue I had was - I always closed the blinds for sleep, but in the morning, the sun would shine right between the blind and the wall and directly onto my face, when I was lying in the direction the bed was prepared to sleep in. It woke me up much too early and with a headache. I shifted my sleeping position to accomodate that, but it meant the night stand and TV were not as accesible anymore. Maybe the blinds could be adjusted slightly to avoid that in the future.

There was nothing I didn't like, overall, I had a very good stay.

The location is very central and convenient, the hotel is very clean and well cared for and the staff are very polite and helpful.

The room had no aircon, in the middle of a heatwave it was very hot.

Breakfast good. Parking garage cheap with hotel parking ticket.Walking distance to shopping.

The bed creaked from the slightest movement. The parking garage wasn't very close.

The room was clean and functional. The location was excellent for my conference.

The room was sparse and cold. The bed had a lumpy mattress. There were no rugs on the floors and it felt a bit like a university accommodation. There was no one there when I arrived and I had to find the number (all explanation in German) to call to get in at 11pm, in the dark, on a busy road in a City I did not know.
