Fantastic location for visiting Venice. Lovely house and garden. Luca, the owner was extremely welcoming and his knowledge of the area was outstanding. Breakfast was a treat every day.

A delightful guesthouse in a surprising green oasis close to the centre of Mestre. The host was very friendly and available and provided many useful tips for visiting the area, as well as a great breakfast.

If you're looking for a place to stay near Venice that feels nothing like a hotel and everything like a home, Casa Lunia Guesthouse is exactly that. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and care that goes into this place was immediately obvious. Our room was comfortable and well-sized - noticeably more spacious than what you'd typically expect at this price point. Everything was clean and thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to settle in and feel at ease straight away. But let's talk about the breakfasts — because they deserve their own paragraph. Host Luca prepares what regulars lovingly call "la fantasia di Luca" — a fresh, generous spread that changes every morning and goes far beyond the tired continental breakfast you'd expect at a B&B. Fresh croissants, fruit, proteins, proper barista-made coffee and cappuccino - it's the kind of breakfast that makes you want to linger at the table and delay your plans for the day. Speaking of Luca — he is, quite simply, an exceptional host. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to help, he packed us off each day with great tips for exploring Venice. He has a rare gift for making every guest feel like a personal friend rather than just another booking. In the evenings, we loved unwinding in the garden — a quiet, peaceful oasis where you can breathe after a busy day of sightseeing. It's the perfect spot to relax with a drink at the end of the day, and a real bonus that many guesthouses simply don't offer.

The only small suggestion we'd offer is the option to grab a good coffee a little earlier, before the breakfast time, for those early-morning starts.

Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip. Luca is the kind of host who genuinely makes a difference — not just because he's helpful, but because of the passion and respect he has for the places around him. He shared so much about the local area and Italy in general that by the end of our stay, we had a whole new list of places we now need to visit. That kind of inspiration is rare. The location is practical without feeling like a compromise: 4–5 minutes to the bus stop for Venice, close to good restaurants, yet tucked in a quiet area where you actually sleep well. The garden is a lovely touch — a peaceful spot to wind down after a day of exploring. AC was a lifesaver too. Clean, comfortable, well-located, and hosted by someone who genuinely cares. We'd come back without hesitation and would recommend it to anyone visiting Venice who wants a more authentic, relaxed base than staying on the island itself.
